Advantages: Amazing beaches and scenery Disadvantages: Going home at the end!!
beaches. Your best bet would be to hire a car/bike (Nikos along the main road does a good deal on bikes)and head for Glyfada (I think that's how you spell it) where there's an amazing beach which tends to be almost empty a lot of the time - there's signposts for it all along the main road.
If you fancy more an upbeat night out head over to nearby Ipsos (about 10/15 mins in a car)which is a bit of a lower key version of Kavos. There's loads of rooms available for reasonable prices if you stay the night (call into the apartments to check or get your rep to sort something out).
Corfu town is well worth a visit and you can get there by bus which leaves every day on the main road and costs about £1 return - be warned though, the roads aren't the best and the bus tends to be busy and hot so you may be better off hiring a car or bike.

My husband and I stayed in the Odysseus Hotel Paleocastritsa last May. We had a lovely time and the hotel was clean and comfortable. It is in the most beautiful postion, overlooking one of the many bays in Paleokastritsa (when you look down from above it?s the heart shaped one). I would definitely recommend you pay for a sea view room, as not only are you guaranteed a fantastic view you will probably get a much larger balcony. Ours was big enough for a table and two chairs.
We stayed half board, and we thought the food was good. The breakfast was basic although the yoghurt was lovely. At night the salad selection was really very good ...

SUNSHINE MAKES EVERYTHING LOOK GOOD:
We made our way up to the pool area and were pleasantly surprised by a couple of big pools, lots of sun loungers and umbrellas, a couple of quiet bars and a restaurant. It all looked quiet, sunny and inviting. We sat down and enjoyed an iced tea and toasted sandwiches. We had been up since 2am and I had only had a cup of coffee and water so I was quite hungry by now. The waiter was lovely and the food was fine. We were getting quite positive vibes and when we went back to reception they said our apartment was ready we were almost on a high.
MAYBE I SPOKE TOO SOON:
We drove around to near our apartment and went up to the top floor, no lift but we are quite fit so that is not a great problem. We struggled with the old key in the lock and eventually got in. It ...
