Advantages: Central location, clean Disadvantages: Food, rooms
We stayed at this hotel in London a little over a month ago now for two nights, we chose this hotel mainly because of the central location and because it was only a ten minuite walk from the show we had booked to go too.
Check in was very quick - About ten minuites and the staff at the reception seemed very friendly.
My first thoughts on the hotel was that it looked really clean and that it was nicely decorated and it looked modern.
I was a little dissapointed with our room as it was very small and basic, our room had a double bed, tea and coffee making facilities, a tv with satellite and a small, basic en suite bathroom with a shower.
The views from our room very very poor - A block of offices which made our room dark as they were so close.
The hotel has two bars and two resturaunts, the bars were again nicely decorated ...
Advantages: Comfortable, clean, good staff Disadvantages: A few faults, doesnt live up to expectations
This review is about my Christmas party experience at the Strand PalaceHotel.
This year, I was in charge of organising our office Christmas party, and, being based in South East London, the department tends to head to Bromley or Greenwich for a meal. But this year we decided to go all out, and go 'up west', and so I came across the Strand Palacehotel on my googlequest and we decided to go posh as well.
The booking process was slightly tiresome, seeing as the particular member of staff we made our booking through was somewhat challenged in the brains department. The initial booking process was easy. We booked ourselves in for the three-course carvery meal, and then Channy and I (the office babies) were sent scuttling around collecting everybody's cash (£33 per head). All was sent in when a couple of weeks later, the girl calls me ...
Advantages: Friendly and helpful owners / Clean / Good Food / Swimming pools / Garden / Free pick-up. Disadvantages: Can't think of any.
Everything said in the description is true and more so. The owners (Jenny and Eugene) are invariably friendly and helpful. All the staff are the same. The hotel is spotlessly clean. The food is excellent (and as vegetarians we certainly appreciate this). The pool is immense - there are smaller pools for smaller people. The garden is lovely. History, culture or clubbing are a short bus (bus stop across the road) or taxi ride.
The village is a ten minute walk away. There are several bars and restaurants. A supermarket. Clothes and shoe shops. This is a working village where real people really live.
It must be good:- This is our tenth visit. Others have been even more often.
Due to the present financial crisis (May 2009) there are still rooms available throughout the year. ...
