During the morning the boat stops for three swimming stops. At the first stop off point there is an island where you can purchase pancakes (absolutely gorgeous and a bargain at around £1.50 each). The water near the island is too shallow for the boat (apparently it?s keel is too large) but as soon as you moor up, a small motor-boat arrives offering to take you (free of charge) to the island whilst Captain Sammi waits.
The second stop is in a disused ship building yard/bay. The remains of the yard have been submersed in water and now provide a great location for lots of fish and marine life. This is an excellent place for snorkelling, although you do need to be careful of the urchins.

A pleasant little film this one, not the greatest children's adventure film ever made, but a reasonable effort.
Synopsis
Nim is an 11 year old girl who lost her mother when she was a toddler. He father who's a writer and marine biologist told her she was swallowed by a blue whale which was on the run from a ship called the Buccaneer.
Nim and her father Jack live on an island they discovered after sailing around the world for several years. They are the only inhabitants, unless you count a collection of animals which Nim has befriended, included a sealion, a bearded dragon and a pelican. Occasionally they receive parcels from the mainland which contain items they can't produce for themselves, some of Nim's favourite items are books, particularly those of the great adventurer Alex Rover.

Advantages: fun for children, animals were good Disadvantages: no chemistry between actors, bad effects
Nim and her father Jack have sailed around the world twice and made a discovery which saw them setting up home on an undiscovered island. Nim has no mother as she was taken by a great white whale when Nim was a baby and so father Jack is always searching for the whale to be close to her Mom. Jack works as a scientist and is always on the lookout for new marine animals. As a result of his work he goes off for 2 nights leaving Nim on the Island with her nest friends, Silkie the seal and iguana Fred. Nim is not bother by being left on her own as she has her books for company, her favourite being the stories about adventurer Alex Rover.
As Nim?s father leaves Nim gets an email from the Alex Rover who needs help with details of the volcano which is on their island. Nim is thrilled with this email and sets off to find the info Alex needs ...
