Really hard on brakes.

Advantages: Very Fast
Disadvantages: Hard on brakes.

The Monza circuit is the home of the Italian Grand Prix and is a mecca for the fanatical Ferrari fans. The circuit was opened in 1922 and has been the home of the Italian Grand Prix since 1950. This very fast circuit is one of the quickest of the year with cars reaching speeds of 220 mph. The long straights and sweeping corners mean that most of the cars are set up with low wing levels, but this provides problems when going into the slow corners ...
...only takes a small misjudgement by a driver for him to overshoot a corner. The circuit tends to favour the high powered cars, although the stresses on the cars make reliability a major factor. The chicane at the first corner has often been the scene of an incident at the start of a race and before the 2001 Grand Prix the drivers were discussing their tactics for the start of the race whilst on the grid, just a few minutes before the race was due ...

The red mist has fallen...

Advantages: Ferrai form, Button in the points again
Disadvantages: A very broing race compared to the previous 3

Fourth round of the season and already we have the big battle. The Schumacher brothers demonstrated their skill and speed last out in Brazil, but now they are here at Imola, San Marino – the second home of the famous tifosi and the place of Ralf’s first ever win last year. With Montoya vowing revenge on Michael, the weekend could be on to remember. SUMMARY OF LAST YEARS RACE With both Mclarens on the front row and the Ferrari’s ...
...a dominant victory went to Schumacher – Ralf Schumacher that is. Ralf jumped ahead from 3rd at the start and never looked back to win one of the most straightforward races of last year. David Coulthard continued his promising early form to take second, ahead of Rubens Barrichello. Michael had a disappointing race as he ran a lowly 6th (for him anyway) and picked up a puncture, only to retire with suspension damage two laps later. In a highly ...

Fun for all the family

Advantages: Slides, pools and more
Disadvantages: Awful if you hate water parks

Acquapark Cecina is a town in Tuscany, situated about 40 minutes from Pisa airport. The town has many amenities, and one of the places we usually visit while holidaying here is the water park. The waterpark is situated a short distance from the town centre, and when taking the main road towards the beach, the slides can be seen through the houses. So, no need to signpost it as it is obvious where to turn off, but it is actually very clearly signposted. ...
...slides and amusements are not as big as in some of the newer parks, it still looks new, and shows no signs of wear and tear and general shabbiness. There is a big modern entrance, and once you have paid for your ticket (16 Euros for an adult, and 13 Euros for children from 3-11 years) you are in the water park. It calls itself a village, and it is actually like a park. There are chairs dotted around the two pools, and areas which are shaded as well ...

Gateway To Hell!

Advantages: None. Well, the flights were cheap.
Disadvantages: Overpriced. Inadequate seating. Poor air-conditioning, etc, etc.

...give it it’s full title Orio al Serio International Airport, is located in northern Italy almost midway between Milan and the Lake Garda district, and just off the main A4 motorway from Milan to Venice. ~ ~ We decided to use Bergamo Airport for two main reasons. Number one is that it is the main airport used by the budget airline Ryanair for the district, and number two is that it is very conveniently located for the Lake Garda district where we ...
...the very few favourable comments I will have to make about this airport, as it was only a little over a 100 kilometres from Pischiera on the southern shores of Lake Garda, and hence just a leisurely drive of about an hour or so in our hire car. (If ANY drive on an Italian motorway can ever be described as leisurely!) ~ ~ As you have already probably deduced from my title of this review, to say that I was somewhat unimpressed with this Italian airport ...

OK for a flying visit...

Advantages: Useful for lots onward travel possibilites, good public transport links
Disadvantages: See below

...I had cause to use Ronchi dei Legionari airport earlier this year, it dawned on me that an airport review could be very useful and that certain groups of travellers (families, people with mobility problems) might look for particular information about the facilities at an airport before they travel. I used Ronchi dei Legionari, in north east Italy, because I was using nearby Trieste as a stepping stone on my way to Ljubljana in neighbouring Slovenia ...
...to visit the Italian Alps, Ronchi dei Legionari would be an ideal airport to use. In fact, if you fly in from British or German airports you will have a spectacular flight over the Alps - I will never forget how breath-taking it was to cruise just above the snowy mountains. The area in which the airport is situated is known as Friuli-Venezia Giulia and while it is not as well known as, say, Lombardy, Liguria or Tuscany as a region of Italy it has ...
