Cheap and Cheerful Venetian Beds
Review of Delfino Hotel, Mestre by zoe_page

Advantages: Cheap and cheerful
Disadvantages: A short bus ride from Venice proper

...we ended up at the Delfino which looked like a very reasonably 3* place that didn’t cost the earth. The hotel is in Mestre which is a suburb just across the water from Venice, and as such is served by taxis and buses as well as a train station (there are no cars or other road-requiring vehicles on the main island because there are no roads). The bus from Treviso airport (the out of the way one served by Ryanair flights) stops at the station in Mestre ...
...stopped. My friends’ bus did but mine, the following day, didn’t choose to do this so I quickly discovered that the hotel is also a €15 taxi ride from Piazzale Roma, the main traffic hub in Venice. Had I known, I could alternatively have jumped on a local bus as the hotel is well served by these, but I didn’t know which number to get, I was hot and tired after travelling, and I really needed an ice cream sooner rather than later, so a taxi it was. ... I have fallen in love with ITALY!!!
Review of Hotel Splendid Palace, Limone sul Garda by MUMLUMS

Advantages: The Prople and Scenary
Disadvantages: The Courier and too much travel within 1 week

We spent a week travelling through Italy by coach, we did over 3,000 miles which we felt was too much for a week, but , during that time fell in love with Italy and its people. They are very open to tourist's and helpful when lost or confused about timings etc. We stayed in varied hotels, some family run and others 'star' hotels, we were made feel very welcome and the standard was high in hygiene, compared to some British Hotels. Only one had a poor ...
...experience. Our best day was spent at Limone Sul Garda, I just loved the place and hope to have a life style change and spend more time there and in Italy. If there is a job to be had, I will be on the next plane, and become Italy's ' Shirley Valentine' Their Rail service is very good and most of all their trains very, very clean. The Italian were very helpful explaning any change of message on the platform tannoy. In all an excellent experience, ... Read review

Aurora
Review of Aurora, Tivoli by BristolBud

Advantages: Position, cleanliness, staff
Disadvantages: None although may be too quiet for some

Reasons for choosing this hotel: We chose this hotel for the first couple of nights of a two week self-drive tour in July 07 based on it's proximity to Rome and the fact that the area is rich in history - fabulous Villas built as it was one of the most popular destinations of Roman emperors due to the sulphur springs and spa waters which are still thought to be of the highest quality. Directions: Tivoli is to the North East of Rome and is easily ...
...the Rome Ring Road and exit at Junction 13 (head towards Tivoli), the hotel is approximately 10km from this junction. The hotel is also easily reached from the centre of Rome by public transport - the railway station Bagni di Tivoli is 1km away and the bus-stop on the main Rome-Tivoli line is 300m from the hotel. Hotel Details: The hotel itself is on a quiet residential street which runs parallel to the main road and has secure parking in a little ... Read review
