Fantastic hotel in Lake Garda, reasonable price and great staff
Advantages: Friendly staff, clean rooms, good facilities Disadvantages: A little too far from town if walking, pool covered
We booked this hotel fairly quickly on the internet one night, having not much time to research the options, but the facilities seemed decent for the price per night (around £100 per night for room and breakfast for two). We were not at all disappointed. The hotel is pretty from the outside and has a parking garage free for use by guests. There are bicycles available for hire, a ping pong table, a hot tub and sun loungers on the roof of the hotel. ... ...is that it has a roof over it. The sides are open, but swimming in the sun is not possible. Despite the 30oC heat while we were there, the pool remained too cold to be relaxing! There is also some gym equipment in the pool area. Breakfast was a buffet of fruits, cheese, ham, croissants, bread, cereals etc which was more than adequate. The room had a large bed, large balcony and there was a safe and fridge in the wardrobe. The bathroom was modern ...

Great for one-night stop-over in Italy
Advantages: Cheap, close and friendly Disadvantages: Not for a long stay!
If you want a quick summery - good for a top-over on route to somewhere else. If you're in Bergamo for a few days, go for somewhere more up-market.
Scenario

We were off to Lake Como, flying from Liverpool on Ryanair to Bergamo Orio airport. The flight got in at about 9.30pm and we needed somewhere for myself, the wife and the evil 3 year-old to stay within a cheap taxi-ride to the airport. We routed around the internet and came up with ... ...for a 5 star mansion, just somewhere to rest before the 2 hour (we got lost) drive to the beautiful Italian Alps.
Arrival
The taxi fare from the airport took about 10 minutes and the driver nearly killed us. Id heard about italian driving but I really didnt expect it to be on a par with Russian Roulette. It cost about 12 euros which I didnt think was too bad but I dont trust taxi drivers as soon as they know you dont know your way around ...

Local colour at a great price
Advantages: very very cheap, decent and respectable, nice interesting town Disadvantages: a long way from the airport
Hotel del Corso is a rather ordinary three star hotel in Selvino which is twenty five kilometers from Bergamo airport. This doesn't sound very far, but it is up a mountain so you get a nice drive up a scenic mountain path, but it is hardly speedy driving!
We stayed there after arriving at Bergamo airport on a fly-drive holiday, and not being able easily to find an inexpensive hotel near the airport which would put two adults and two children aged ... ...the town. The hotel rooms are above a bar, which is on one side of Selvino which is quite a big town. So eating out was easy, and I spent a happy afternoon in the large town playpark with my children, and walking around the town which has a plethora of small shops, coffee bars and ice cream parlours as well as restaurants.
The worst thing about the hotel was that the bathroom smelt - even though it was all very clean - the plumbing just smelt. We ...

Don Antonio Camping Residence
Advantages: It's for every taste, who likes the beach and not Disadvantages: Some service such as restaurant and minimarket are in the neighbor camping
It's a campsite suitable for families with children, but not only. It's direct on the sea so there are no roads to cross, which is ......no small thing, there is a beautiful swimming pool recently built and suitable for all ages with water slides and whirlpool. There are spaces for campers, caravans and tents as well as bungalows, studios and mobile homes for those who want to feel more comfortable. The pitches are grassy and shaded. The nice thing ... ...the price and in that of the bungalow, the studios and mobile homes is also included the beach-umbrella with beach chair and bed. For kids there's the mini club and every evening an unleashed baby dance. The entertainment also includes funny performances and periodically there are festivals that start in the morning and end in the evening! The town center is only a mile far and can be reached easily either on foot or by bike thanks to the bike and ...

Modern Hotel, but not in the city centre.
Advantages: Nice modern rooms and friendly staff Disadvantages: location is away from central Cagliari.
Location The Holiday Inn Cagliari hotel is located close to the airport, on the outskirts of Cagliairi, therefore if you are planning to go be aware that the best way to get into the city centre is via a taxi (prices varied from 10-15 euro). The hotel is located just off a central road, but is quite nonetheless. Check-in Check-in was fast and efficient, I booked two standard King rooms and everything was correct. The staff at the desk ... ...beds were comfortable and the Holiday Inn Pillow Menu is a nice idea. Food I had breakfast included in my rate, the breakfast was amazing, so much to choose from! Croissants, cakes, cereals, cooked breakfast, tea, coffee, orange etc. One of my group members suffers from a wheat intolerance problem but was happy that the hotel provided rye bread - too many hotel breakfasts dont seem to adequately cater for specific diets! I did have lunch at ...
