Advantages: Professional staff, clean, wonderful spa and swimming pool, plenty to see and do Disadvantages: Perhaps too much to see and do in the slightly dodgy immediate surroundings

Transport
The main problem in Bangkok is traffic: there's plenty of transport, in fact, there might be too much of it! Traffic jams are everywhere, but these can be avoided by a death-defying ride in a tuktuk. Another option is the Bangkok Skytrain, which stops some 50 meters from the entrance of the Marriot. An excellent alternative to the taxi, although it won?t get you all the way to old town.
Conclusion
JWMarriott offers all you need to a very, very comfortable stay. The rooms are excellent, but the amenities are exceptional. The surroundings are great if you love the bustle of Bangkok, although it might not be your thing if you are looking for some peace and quiet. ...
I stayed at the Marriott Royal County recently.The hotel is very easy to find. Local shops are only a five minute walk away as are local pubs and restaurants. This hotel also makes a good choice. One problem you might find is trying to find a parking space. This is an ideal location from which to explore Durham. There is an indoor heated pool. The service in the hotel was first class.

The JWMarriott, Mirage City, Cairo is something more than a mirage. As we approached, two giant sandstone pillars loom to one side, replicas of ancient Egyptian construction, and I thought, "this could either be very tacky or very impressive". Well, I was very impressed by the hotel, the facilities, the design, but unfortunately the overall experience was a bit disappointing. Atleast, it was when I stayed there late in 2003.
Sprawling around several swimming pools, a wave pool, an 18 hole golf course and half a dozen tennis courts, it is more than just a hotel. The clubhouse, a two minute walk from the hotel, offers gym and sauna facilities, a pro golf shop, gold driving range and a large bar with pool tables (put to good use during our stay!)
