since then i have been to koh samui / phuket 3 times / pattaya many times krabi / koh lanta twice
of course bangkok ete etc
ihave done lots of tours and i have still seen only a small part of this AMAZING country
i now just get a flight to bangkok an never book any place to stay plenty of hotels / guest houses
wherever you decide to go
suggestions!
pattaya: royal palace / royal twins on 2nd road quite enough with nice pools and still a stones throw from great bars and entertainment and approx £15 a night (for the room not each!)
also includes b/fast
get your discount card on leaving at a cost
(£3) and next time you stay there its 25% cheaper!!! around £11/12
go to pattaya if you like :many many bars macdonald ,dunking do-nuts .shopping malls. average beach. if single? many young and old and pretty and ugly girls who...

After a few days in Bangkok we went to Krabi:
Going to Krabi
On Monday 16th we went to Krabi. We had already booked tickets at home and the price is about 70 € per person one-way. Travelling from one place to another in the middle of the day automatically reduces your day to basically nothing. So I prefer going early in the morning or late at night. Our flight was about 4 p.m. Anyway; we had three options of going to the airport. 1: Hotel “limousine” was 700 bath which is too expensive. 2 option was a fixed price taxi and that was 350 baht including the express way charges. And the 3rd option was a meter-taxi. We chose the latter and the price in the end was 230 baht (160 for the taxi and 70 for the toll station).
The flight to Krabi was nice and short (just over an hour) and the airport here...

...Perfectly situated down a short lane from the main road in Ao Nang, across the road from the beach and close to where the longtail boats leave for most destinations. This is a small hotel with a nice swimming pool and two different types of room, deluxe and superior. Breakfast is served in the little outdoor restaurant just past the pool. The breakfasts were a bit disappointing but we have found that to often be the case in Thailand - they make up for it with their other meals! There is also a massage area just next to Reception where we had a couple of good massages. The staff were very friendly.
We stayed in a deluxe room which we thought was gorgeous. It was a very large room with a double bed, balcony, toilet with bath and a huge walk-in shower, air conditioning. We stayed at this hotel in December 2005 and would have returned...
