Jakarta located on the west java, and known as the Capital city of Indonesia. We can say Jakarta is the heart of Indonesia, because almost people from other city came here to try their luck.
If you came here, don't get surprised with the crowded, pollutions, and traffic jams. Traffic Jams usually started at 6 a.m. until 10 or 11 a.m. (The activities begins). And Then, it will started again at lunch time (12 o'clock till 1 p.m. or 2 p.m.). So if you have an appointment with some people here, try to get up earlier and give a range of 2 or more hours from the appointment's time. I usually takes 2 or more hours from my home to my college (using cars). Efficiently, you can rent a motorcycles or bike to get more faster than the cars do.
Nowadays, there are Bus called Trans Jakarta that has it own way, you can use it as a alternative transportation.
And beware with your stuff, you don't want to lose it in the way. Do not gone to far at 5 p.m. till 7 p.m. with your car, or you will get into another disturbing Traffic Jams.
At night, you can search for a recreations at certain spots: -> In a places called "Kelapa Gading" you can find Kelapa Gading mall, La Piazza, etc. I recommended this place if you do not want to get to far away finding stuffs, but of course they have a little more expensive at prices.
-> Other shopping spots (malls) are: Orchid Park's Mall (Mall Taman Anggrek), Senayan City, Mangga dua Mall And Glodok(This is where the people from electronics merchant gathers to sale at certainly cheap prices).
-> Other shopping spots in traditional appearances are do much cheaper at prices than at the Malls, but of course with a different quality.
About your Appetite, you can choose many kinds of foods in the malls. I recommend you to try our traditional foods also (but, do not try at street stall's food if your stomach not strong enough) . ^^
Well, in the conclusions: The negatives are: Pollutions, crowded, traffic jams and traffic crimes (people do a contra ways against the rules, so be careful when driving).
The Positives are: Night sightseeing, Many different kind of foods, shopping spots, many good hotels, good for business.
