As in beach but not in Treasure
Advantages: Not too Touristy Disadvantages: Transportation
Treasure beach is an up and coming part of jamaica, located on the south coast. there is a lot of plans for development of this area Sandals has a newly built complex, with all the trimmings that is standard in a sandals resort. There are pockets of development in the surrounding area for villas. The beach if very nice, but I have to say not as nice as the beaches on the north coast, in general if you want a quite relaxed beach holiday this is the ...

My Trip to Jamaica
Advantages: Lot of beautiful places to see Disadvantages: has some bad areas but you never have to go near them
As soon as I stepped out at the airport - it was warm and welcoming. The landscape was beautiful and very relaxing to the eye. The food was great and the town was alive till quite late, yet contrary to what I expected, I felt pretty safe. The people were welcoming and it turned out to be a wonderful trip. The natural baths were so therapeutic and for a small fee we rented one the size of a mini swimming pool to ourselves. Up on the hills there were ... ...I would definately recommend a trip to Jamaica and will be going back to visit again - there were so many places to go - I got to see some of the historical places but still have quite a few more to see.
The dunns river falls is a beautiful freshwater fall that runs amazingly into a salt water beach - if you are brave enough you can climb it - the whit sand is so nice. Then you might want to visit Lovers leap - story has it that a slavekeeper's ...

Jamaican Experience
Advantages: So much to do and see, wonderful people and beauty Disadvantages: None whatsoever
I adore Jamaica and who wouldn't. If people tell you not to leave your complex then I suggest you laugh in their face. We stayed at a 5 star complex in a remote area where the cattle roamed the streets and the locals sat along the roadside under their oil filled street lights. There was one shack of a bar across the road, a small local shop and a jerk chicken takeaway. The nearest towns were a bus or taxi ride away.
We hired a taxi for the 2 weeks ... ...sight seeing and spent our evenings in the bar over the road with the locals. They are the most friendliest adorable people.
Unfortunately, we didn't finish our exploring as we were hit by a hurricane and even though the people lost everything but we became their first priority. Why travel such a distance to a fantastic country to stay in one place the entire time? ...

Paradise honeymoon at Couples, Ochos Rios
Advantages: No kids, loads to do Disadvantages: American tourists, strange booking system for activites
We chose the Couples resort for our honeymoon because, as well as sun and sand, we wanted a resort where there would be plenty to see and do (yes, even on honeymoon ;-)). This was certainly true of Couples.
We travelled with Unijet (now part of First Choice I believe) from London Gatwick to Montego Bay airport. Since we were flying charter and the flight is around 8 hours long, we booked a "premium upgrade" for around £300 which gave us a longer ... ...a few feet to the Couples desk and then out to the bus. Yes, I did say bus. OK, it had air conditioning, but it was a bone-shaking, frightening hour-long drive to the resort (close your eyes). Considering their laid-back reputation, the Jamaicans seem to come alive in their cars! The convention seems to be to, don't look before overtaking the vehicle in front, simply sound your horn and pull out, and the driver of the vehicle in front will sound ...

My beaches Negril stay for the 3rd time
Advantages: The people, the sunsets, the atmosphere. Disadvantages: The 10 hour flight folowed by the 1:30 min coach drive to Negril
...I started going to Negril with my wife on our honeymoon to the Beaches Negril resort (which is part of the Sandels resots group) in 2004 and haven't looked back since.
It is a really lovely place to go for a holiday, beaches resorts maybe on the costly side for a two week holiday but it is really worth it as they are all inclusive so you never have to worry about food or drink.
The resort has about 3/4 of a mile of the 7 mile long beach at Negril ... ...you can also go and use during your stay.
Being on the west side of the island means you can be in a great place to see the sunset but the best place we found was at Rick's Cafe which is about another 45 mins up the coast from the resort and all that you have heard about the place is true!!!
Other trips can be paid for at the resort who then put on coaches for you which can include Dunns River and the other side of the Island.
As we have been ...
