Advantages: Wonderful, friendy, fun hotel

Tired and bad tempered after our arrival at the airport after a much delayed flight to Jamaica seemed worth all the hassle when we were cheerfully greeted at this wonderful hotel. The reception and indeed the whole of the welcoming ground floor of the main hotel is open sided with a lovely breeze coming straight through. There are a few restaurants in which to eat, the main self service buffet hall which is replenished with fresh goods regularly ...
...bar on the beach and the fish restaurant. There was also a barbeque evening during our stay. There are events for the children and for adults and the hotel really puts an effort into entertainment day and night. This hotel has a pool bar, the main bar, piano bar and a disco. Advantages: Lots of facilities and good choice of restaurants
Disadvantages: Rooms are more basic than you'd probably expected

Dunns River sandals- bit of a letdown.....

Advantages: beautiful beach, fantastic buffet
Disadvantages: other resturants very poor

...this is where i felt Sandals really let us down. Dont get me wrong the buffet was FANTASTIC- the choice was out of this world but the italian and "gourmet silver service" was useless. the pizza and spag bol we ordered could have been from the freezer section in Tescos and the gourmet silver service was laughable. The pork medallions i ordered were pork chops! The oriental restaruant which you had to book for was ok but this really was only because ...

Loved the Riu Tropical Bay

Fabulous holiday!!

Advantages: Great for families
Disadvantages: Long haul travel and quite expensive

My family went on holiday to Jamaica and stayed here. 2 adults and 2 children. We had a fabulous time! The Hotel was great - our room was very spacious with 2 double beds, ensuite bathroom and tv. We had a balcony and the most gorgeous sea view on the 7th floor OUSTANDING!!!!! We were on an all inclusive stay so all the food was free. It was amazing. There were several different places to eat within the Hotel all but 2 were very relaxed bar/grill ...
...which during a 2 week all inclusive you get to eat in twice (once each). The food and service in these restaurants is excellent!!!
