Loved the Riu Tropical Bay Advantages: beach, food, people Disadvantages: none I stayed at the Riu Tropical Bay in April 2008 for two weeks with my boyfriend. I absolutely adored the hotel and can hardly fault it at all. It had everything I would want from a holiday; gorgeous weather, wide sandy beaches, delicious food, yummy cocktails and much more! The staff and entertainment were exceptional. The staff were unbelievably energetic and lively, despite the ridiculously long hours that they worked. They would always try and ... ...The sister hotel Riu Negril is just down the beach. I stayed at this hotel when I came to Negril with my family, and to be honest there wasn't much difference between them, although I think that over the summer the Riu Tropical Bay has been upgraded to a palace, so perhaps that is the nicer of the two now. wedded bliss! Advantages: relaxing accommodation Disadvantages: nothing Well after a ten hour flight we were glad to land. We where then directed to the couples lounge at Montego Bay airport. We were offered a drink and where able to relax in the comfy sofas whilst waiting for the other guests. We were then shown to the couples resort bus, which was smaller and looked more comfortable than the others. The ride took about an 1 ½ hours to the resort. I must say on approaching the hotel I was surprised at how grubby the ... ...were given a glass of bubbly and escorted to our room. Our room was nice, as although it was away from the sea, it was very peaceful and was close to the beauty rooms. The beauty room was in the middle of the blocks, with a small peaceful garden and pond area. We did request a beach room as it was a wedding/honeymoon however in hindsight we were glad we didn?t have a beach room as it always seemed busy, and a bit noisy. Great place for Jamaican art, lovely waterfront and good food Advantages: Quiet, relaxing and beautiful artwork Disadvantages: It takes a little work to find the spot, knowing the right exit to Rio Bueno. ...by accident. I took the Rio Bueno exit at Braco off the main highway from Montego Bay to see this historic town and ended up popping into the place Gallery Joe James to see the art work. I was astounded of the beauty of the paintings done by the owner and artist Joe James and the breath taking view of the waterfront as we sat and conversed about the history of the area or cold red stripes. It soon became late and I decided to stay over and was more ... ...the views of the sea from my balcony. Joe and his wife Joyce along with their staff made me feel like family as they made every effort to make me feel at home. Grand facilities at the 'Grande' Advantages: Lots of facilities and good choice of restaurants Disadvantages: Rooms are more basic than you'd probably expected ...The hotel: The Sunset Jamaica Grande is a hotel in the 'Sunset' group of hotels. The hotel is the largest of the three in the group and is rated as a 4 star standard. The hotel is made up of one main building and two tower blocks which are very easy to spot from a distance due to their bright yellow colour! Location: The hotel sits on the edge of the bay and in a prime position directly on the beach which is also private to hotel guests. The hotel ... ...Bay airport. Couples Negril Advantages: Service, Style and Quality Disadvantages: Adult only I have been to this hotel twice and am due to go back for the third time! It really is All Inclusive from the moment you step off the plane and stroll to the in airport couples lounge for your first drink, to the shuttle to your hotel, and resort excursions. The service here is warm, friendly and attentive without being in your face or imposing.
