Have been reading other reviews with interest. Wow. We must have been unlucky. The reviews are so good and in so much detail that they almost could have been written by James Villa holidays (joke)
My wife, 3 children and mother and father in law and myself of course took a 2 week holiday to Majorca in August last year.
The list of problems we had was unbelievable. James Villas holidays were not prepared to fix our problems. Even though we had spent £3,648.27 (this was without flights). We telephoned them for the 1st three days complaining. We even sent them a solicitors letter on the 3rd day and they still refused to accept that there were problems. When we did complain we even telephoned head office in the Uk in Maidstone in Kent. The staff were rude and sarcastic. They told us to complain when we get back home. Not much good when these 2 weeks are supposed to be the most fun in your year.
After 3 days we moved out of the villa and spent £1,650.00 to move into another villa (via another company ) for the remainder of our holiday.
We took James Villa Holidays to High Wycombe County court in Buckinghamshire on the 26th February 2004. We won!!! The judge awarded us £2,496.00. Our story was in the Daily telegraph on 27th March 2004.
The villa absolutely stunk, the pool was dirty with tiny creatures swimming around in it. The sides of the pool had scum and dirt all around. Pool ladders loose and dangerous. On one occasion there was an open well 15-20 foot deep. Not good when you have 3 young children. Shower was not hot. Water flooded all over the floor. Appearance of villa was old. Furniture falling apart.
The judge's comments were as follows: "The defendant (James Villas) does not accept that the villa in anyway fell short of the standards which it was contractually obliged to meet".
The judge agreed that the swimming pool and villa fell below acceptable standards.
After reading other reviews I can only come to the conclusion that if you book a holiday with James Villa holidays it is all down to luck. You could have a good villa or you could have a villa with many problems. The question is. Will James Villa holidays fix these problems?
James Villas have never apologised for what they put us through.

How do this company keep trading? The rot obviously starts at the top as I wrote to the Director who could not be bothered to respond!

Last three years have booked holidays via James Villas in Italy, first 2 years 100%. This year an absolute disgrace we left the villa within the hour. See my review on "Il Bagnese - James Villas". They could not care less. I will never use them again or recommend them, there is no customer loyalty.
