We landed at Lanzaroteairport and took a taxi to our villa - it took a little while to get there as we had not a lot of experience of Spanish and the taxi driver didn't seem to know where our villa was....but we got there eventually :)
++ The Villa ++ Well we were really looking forward to entering the villa on our own and being delighted - but the "Manager" who cleans the pool was "There" on the doorstep the minute we arrived - god knows where he came from = he must of been watching as he said they lived "Across the road" so we thought "Great :-("
Anyway he showed us around the villa and then left us in peace...
++ Villa Interior ++ Very , very , tidy and clean , very nice and we settled in straight away, it was lovely and very roomy being a 3-bed 3-bathroom villa for us 3 girls - nanna, moi and my daughter who is 9.
++Exterior ++ The "Back garden" itself was brilliant!! loads of room it had a wonderful pool which was very clean, we spent HOURS!!! in it - as Lanzarote is very very hot in August!! There were ample sunbeds ( six in total ) and there was only me and nana who used them ) It even had night lights in the pool so when we got back from an evening out we dived straight in :D - The garden also had a barbecue which amazingly we didnt use!!! I think the heat must of dampened our appetites!
++ Problems ++ I think the only problems we had were with "Playa Blanca" itself the people were quite "Rude" and "arrogant" and very little in the way of "Shopping" available....
One other thing was the villa's pool attendants "Managers" let themselves in the bacvk yard to "clean the pool" without knocking or asking first - now i don't mean to sound prudish but we could of soooo been sunbathing "topless" or something - and it just really annoyed me to be sitting there eating our lunch when they just waltzed in and did it for half an hour............as i was aware in the James Villa brochure the "Cleaners" came whilst you were "Sleeping" in the "Night / early hours"
++ Overall ++ Very good value for money ((We have booked with James Villas for Cyprus next year 2005)) but would Appreciate the "Cleaners/managers" to come whilst we are either not there or asleep !!
We had a fantastic time and it was amazingly my first time abroad - I loved the "privacy" of having our "very own pool" and my little girl was in it most of the week ;-) believe it or not she didn't get "bored" once!!
I highly reccomend James Villas if you want a holiday without "fighting for a sunbed" every day and however hot and unbearable the country you're in gets....you can always go back to "Your Own pool !!! "
