My wife had stayed in a James Villa and had a good experience, so we visited Nerja in Spain and stayed with them. The villa was satisfactory but I wouldn't rush to use them again. The beds were uncomfortable, kitchen utensils and crockery was old, unmatching and cracked, one of the showers didn't work and the washing machine had to be repaired. Our rep didn't arrive during the first few days so we were not able to tell her of the problems. After she had visited though, some of these things were fixed as soon as we pointed them out, but they should not have been like this in the first place. We believed James Villas to be a reputable company, but although they rely on private owners to keep them up to scratch, the company needs to keep watch on the state the villas are in. All it would have taken was a few IKEA-style cups and plates and a lick of paint - as welll as better beds to make a comfortable nights sleep and we would have had a far better holiday. The location of the villa, the pool and the gardens were great and we had a wonderful holiday despite the issues. But take note, James Villas - appearance is everything!

Good review- you are so right, it doesn't cost much to equip a holiday home attractively and it makes all the difference. We had a place we let out and everyone commented on how it was so attractive and well equipped, and it really was done on a budget! Glad you still had a good holiday.
