Jansport Super Break Duffel

Over the last year or so I have been on a lot of lads' weekends away and so I am always on the lookout for new ways in which to carry my belongings for such trips. I needed something capable of holding everything I needed, so a decent capacity was essential, along with a number of pockets and zips for holding things such as toiletries and money. We usually go away in the car, so security of the pockets isn't an issue, but I do like to have options!

The Jansport Super Break Duffel cost around £20 online, which is quite a competitive price considering the capacity of 39 litres. The dimensions stand at 10.5"(height), 20"(width) and 12"(depth). The bag does fold down to a very compact size and so is ideal for short trips away where sleeping space is often limited. The advantages of a bag over a suitcase are two-fold, with the aforementioned point and the fact the bag is easier to store in the boot of the car as it doesn't have a great deal of extra bulk. This reminds me, the Super Break Duffel is made from very thin and lightweight material. I haven't encountered it tearing just yet, and I think the very robust nature of the material will ensure this doesn't happen anytime soon. The bag is also waterproof which gives you options if you are a fan of camping.

There are numerous ways to carry the Super Break Duffel. The carrying handles can be converted into straps to allow you to carry it on your back, there is also a shoulder strap. I vary the way in which I carry the bag depending on how heavy I have loaded it, also how far I am walking with the bag. The large carrying handles also have padding around one of them, so they can be attached together within the padding for extra comfort.

The design of the Super Break Duffel is very plain, with a totally black body and handles, along with black buckles and zips. There are two straps around the bag which allow you to tighten and loosen the space within the bag depending on the load you wish to carry. If you are carrying a lot of things you may loosen the straps, whereas a half-full bag could mean you tighten the straps in order to prevent things from moving about too much. To the front of the bag is a large pocket which has a zip on it, there is also a large flap of material over this to protect the zip from rain and also for security. I often store by footwear in carrier bags in the bottom of the bag, but if you had flats or plimsolls then I am sure you would manage to fit them in the side pocket.

The way the Super Break Duffel was designed and put together has made for a very good overall product. The robust material and zips, along with the additional items such as various straps and a large capacity ensure this bag will appeal to more than just the wanderer. If you don't mind the odd crease in your clothes, and the additional benefits that come with a bag as opposed to a suitcase then the Jansport Super Break Duffel could well be for you.
