My girlfriend and I stayed at the piccadilly last year over the Easter bank holiday.
Half price rooms......! We paid £35 a night for a standard non-smoking room, and stayed 3 nights. The standard price is around £70-£120 depends on the type of room you have. So for the money you would expect the hotel to be great. Unfortunately the rooms looked like they had not been decorated for years, and for a non-smoking room all you could smell was smoke. I never understand why hotels put them little bars of soap there, but anyway you would expect them to be new and clean, well they looked like they had been used.
On a plus note, the gym and pool was good spent a few hours in there each day.
They have their own bar called the arts bar not bad and quiet cheap. 24 hour security and on site parking.
This would be a really good hotel if only they spent some money updating the features. You would be better off in the travel inn
