On arrival to the hotel first impression was good from the outside, up a very steep hill lined with lemon trees Jason hotel has a square swimming pool and a out side pool bar. Jason has a lift to floors but it was broken for our week, this could prove difficult if you are elderly and need lifts to the 2 floors above. I carried our cases to our 2nd floor room which was a little hard work but we made it. On opening our door the first thing that i noticed was a smell of drains, which had a smell of pickled eggs. On arrival to the hotel first impression was good from the outside, up a very steep hill lined with lemon trees Jason hotel has a square swimming pool and a out side pool bar. We checked in very early and was greeted by a night receptionist who gave us our keys and directed us to our floor. The room itself was nice and white, 2 single beds, a wardrobe, and 2 bedside cupards. A nice TV was fixed to the wall, which showed the channel 'Film Net'. our sliding door was soon opened to let some air in and get rid of the smell. A air condition unit is above the beds but is only switched on in August. Boy it was hot on nights and we could have done with it. Sleeping using no bed sheets is a pain when you are getting bitten by mosquitos all night long, and we found this one of the biggest problems. i was bit 9 times on my back in one night.
we crashed out more or less straight away and awoke at 8 o'clock ready for our breakfasts which Jason provides. The carpets are quite dirty on each floor and really could do with a wash! The dining room sits near the reception area with is quite large and clean, with a huge plasma screen tv. The dining room consists of around 15 tables with thick plastic sheets to stop the table clothes from getting dirty, and i couldn't smell the bacon. I thought booking B and B we would get a hearty breakfast how wrong i was. Breakfast consists of cheap cornflakes, tinned pineapple or peaches, cheese slices and processed sliced ham, cold boiled eggs and chunks of bread which can be toasted. There is cheap orange juice which did not taste as good as fresh, and tea and coffee. I was very dissapointed. There were other guests who provided themselves with there own cereal which is not on. Some mornings we missed breakfast as it was a chore just to get up for toast and coffee.
The pool area is nice and relaxed you do not need to fight for sun lounges, and do not need to put towels on them at 6am. the pool is about 20 metres long and starts at 1 metre deep to around 3 metres at the other end.
The pool bar opens at 12 noon and is open until at least 11pm. im not sure if you can buy food at the pool bar as i never asked and i did not see any menus around. The staff are very nice, This part of my week was very relaxing but be warned Jason Hotel is a place for Jupiter travel a club 18-32 outfit for Serbians (i think). Don't let the club 18-32 put you off though its not like our club 18-30.
Whilst we were there 29th june to 7th July 07 is was very hot, no cooler that 31 degrees and 24 on a night.
English people are far and few between i only saw around 6 but saying that only around 6-10 people sit around the pool sunbathing. Bus parties of Serbs, come and go, there are a lot of Eastern Europeans there.
Our week was to get away and chill out without any kids, i only saw 2 children. it is very relaxing and quite. no 'here we go, here we go' crowd.
Our bed sheets were not changed in the week we were there but towels are changed every 2 days.
If you can over look the dirty carpets, only one set of sheets in the week and only a very basic breakfast it was ok. I certainly would not say we had a rough time, however i would not take any kids there. It did what we wanted it to do, we booked a basic hotel just to chill out and have a quiet week. It certainly isnt the best place ive stayed but i would say it in in my top 3 of those basic places. The drains do smell but we are not in a place that is as clean as our hotels. The smell could be a problem to some people. The mosquitos are a real problem so get yourself plenty of creams and preventions. There is only one electric socket in the room and that was a problem for us.
Another downside was the hill to get to Jason, boy its steep. The first time wasnt a big deal but twice a day and you are fed up with it. There is no shop at Jason so if you need provisions its a good 10 minute walk down the hill along a lane to the sea front. On a night its quite dark but there are lights on, but for girls by themselves it could be scarey.
Ipsos its self is really nice, lovley sea and great weather, it gets windy on a night in July and August. lots of bars and places to eat.
Im glad we went, no big problems and very relaxing holiday. Would i go again not really, there is too much world out ther to see.
The Jason Hotel is a 3 star hotel located on the island of Corfu in Ipsos. It is situated in the centre of Ipsos boasting a gorgeous panoramic view of Corfu.
As soon as I arrived i was greeted by some excellent and well spoken staff, they knew how to make us feel comfortable and helped us with any questions we had. The hotel comprised of a pool room, dining area, TV room, for those who want to watch their soaps abroad and a lucious pool with bar ... ...to the owner of the Jason Hotel, as he has a range of knowledge of where to get your bike for safety and where the best secluded places are on the Island, believe me there are hundreds of beaches and most of them are packed out, We asked and found a lovely spot.
Enjoy . ...

Advantages: quiet, private and safe Disadvantages: The steep hill up to it
...update! we stayed at Hotel Jason on August 22nd to sept 2nd 2008, on first arrival! as it was raining in England, the heat when we got out of the plane was enough to knock you over at 5.30pm, after the short transfer from the Airport to Jason, on booking in, we got our room keys! 2 adults, 3 children age13,7, 7, they expected us to sleep in two differnt rooms, i complained and they did move us all together the next day!! a fully air con room, but ... ...take thing for granted, Hotel Jason did the job, but there is a big hill up to it!! very private, 95% clean, very freindly staff, not many English guests, a large amount of Eastern europeans, but ok!! wouldn't go back as we don't do things twice! to much to see in other places, would recomend!! but don't let your misses get drunk!! as i had to carry mine all the way up the bloody hill!! it nearly killed me!! lift to all floors worked a treat, pool ...
