I have flown with Jet2 a few occasions, the last time was in June of last year when I took a flight from Edinburgh to Dubrovnik in Croatia. The reason we have flown with Jet2 in the past was mainly due to the routes they offer from Edinburgh and the prices are very competitive. I would class Jet2 as a budget airline.

I have flown with a number of a low cost carriers over the years and Jet2 are up there with the best of them. Unlike some of the budget airlines, I have found that Jet2 offer good flight times and from my experience they fly into the central airports.

One of my pet hates with the budget airlines are the restrictions that are placed on you in terms of the amount of baggage you can fly with. Jet2 are competitive with these airlines and some of the most luxurious airlines also. Each passenger is able to take 10kgs worth of hand luggage on board the aircraft and I believe it's around £18 each way to check a bag into the hold. If you pay to check a back in, you a 22kg baggage allowance, which I believe is quite generous.

The Jet2 planes I have flown on aren't the most modern aircrafts. The have grey leather seats and you get pretty good amount of leg room compared with some of the low cost carriers. I am just over 6ft tall and I did not find I was short on space. The aircrafts have always been clean and I have found cabin crew to be friendly and approachable.

As you would probably expect, there is no in flight entertainment on a Jet2 flight. This is standard with the low cost carriers.

When booking flights with Jet2 you are awarded loyalty points. These can be redeemed for a free flight when you reach a certain amount. To the best of my knowledge, these points are valid for a period of 12 months.

I would fly with Jet2 again and would recommend them to friends and family. I would possible be a little reluctant to fly more than 4 or 5 hours on one of their planes. I would be looking for a bit more comfort on a longer journey.
