i travelled on jet airways afew weeks ago and was very impressed. i flew from heathrow london to amritsar india. i had my doubts at the start of our journey as we took off a hour late, i was preparing myself for a very long flight but i was pleasantly surprised. We arrived in india within 7 and a half hours, this was pretty good going.
The inflight experience was very pleasant, the staff were friendly and helpful. As far as i know all jet airways aircrafts are relatively new, they have tv's mounted in the seat in front of you. Theres a wide selection of movies to choose from, they really helped make a long journey seem not so long.
We were given two main meals during the flight, one eveing meal and breakfast, on our return journey we again got two meals and snacks. The food served is indian food and was actually quite nice (shocking for airline food). You can have soft drinks etc whenever you want and they even gave us ice cream.
It is widely accepted that planes are uncomfortable, but this wasn't too bad. We had plenty of leg room, foot stands, reclining seats, pillows and blankets. One thing that was missing was toothbrushes. in the past i've always flown to india on British Airways and they give toothbrushes so you can freshen up but there was no sign of them on this flight (left my teeth feeling abit grotty).
Most of the staff were ery polite, there was one member of staff who looked as though she didnt want to be there but the rest were all very nice. There was a incident on the plane where a certain individual had abit too much alcohol and became slightly abusive but they managed to calm down the situation very well.
The baggage allowance was 30kg which is quite generous when flying to india. The ticket price was slightly expensive when compared to other companies but we did get a direct flight and a good service. The ticket cost just under £500 in february.
Overall a very pleasant journey and highly recommended.
