Myself and my partner stayed in this hotel for one night on before our return home from Pisaairport. I’m pretty certain this hotel is actually a 3 star and it actually feels more like a 4 star.
The hotel was spotlessly clean with exceptional rooms; we were lucky to have one with a balcony which overlooked the plaza below. The bathrooms are huge and come completely stocked with hair dyers and all the essentials such as cream a shower gel.
On first impressions of the staff did seem a little arrogant, but I do not think this was intentional. Perhaps it was my strong Welsh accent which had them a little confused. They were extremely helpful, gave us a map and suggested the best ways to get to the main attraction sites.
The hotel had an impressionable restaurant with an interesting Tuscan menu and was very reasonable priced. It was also very busy during the evening with Italians so if you are at this hotel for a last minute stop over it means you don’t even have to venture outside.
We had to depart early (05.00) in the morning and enquired if it was possible to receive a packed breakfast as we had paid for this service. The receptionist noted the time of our departure and assured us that the buffet would be ready for us when we left. This was brilliant as we were able to fill up before our early flight home. I had the impression this was pretty normal as the hotel is so near the airport it must have many people staying there on the night before their departure.
The best thing about this hotel is its location if you are on the move. It is opposite the main train and bus station (but has double doors on all the balconies to stop the noise from outside ruining your stay). It is also only about 1 mile form the airport (8e in a taxi).
The one down side to this hotel are the prices for the mini bar. It was 4.5e for a can of coke. So be warned make sure you purchase your water and any other staples before you retire to bed. If you forget there are many late night coffee bars in the vicinity which will happily and cheaply oblige.
