from London to Luton for my flight. I took the train from London Bridge (First Capital Connect on the Brighton line) to Luton Airport Parkway which took just under an hour but there are faster trains. Then they have shuttle buses outside the train station that take you there for free if you have a valid train ticket. This takes about 5 minutes and then you are there at the airport.
My husband drove and parked the car at Luton Airport Parkway station. For Friday, Saturday and Sunday the total cost was Ģ6, a complete bargain as it was not in peak time. The airport itself is situated just off junction10 of the M1 which is very easy to get to also. There is parking available at the airport but I think it is more expensive than parking at the station.

Advantages: Practical. Authoritative. Inexpensive Disadvantages: Only publiished bi monthly
Arthur Frommer's BudgetTravel Magazine is ,now owned and published by Newsweek. This publication is a long established, reliable, highly respected, magazine.
The aim of this bi-monthly is to inform readers on the best forms of affordable travel. It is not the sort of publication loaded with articles describing trips made by the writer rather it is explicitly slated at the traveller who is both well informed and not interested in puffery.
It is also not geared to the young backpacker nor the senior traveler per se,it is actually suited to the interests of readers of all age groups.Although published from the USA it is not in any way geographically biased-the world is its oyster !
This magazine gives the readers the sort of down-to-earth practical information they are likely to need- addresses, telephone numbers ...
Advantages: Diverse entertainment Disadvantages: Semi-grim location
Allow me, as a resident of the fair city of Cambridge, to take you on a journey.
Let's start, where a lot of people start, on The Backs. Now, to heathens such as I, this is "a bit of grass leading down to a river", and as such the need to travel halfway round the world to view it is a bit lost on me. But even I must concede that on the right sort of day, the view over the river to Kings College Chapel, meisterwork of Gothic architecture that it is, is a bit on the special side. Let's walk on down to the Silver Street Bridge, soundtracked by the birds in the trees and the punters (as in people on punts, not kerb crawlers) sipping Pimms and occasionally falling in if you're lucky. Here we'll turn left, into the heart of the University area of the City. The buildings glower over the narrow pavements, and academia seems almost tangible ...
