Advantages: Comfortable, clean, good location Disadvantages: Prices during the week
...I like my home comforts when I am travelling abroad, but Mr Tart is quite happy to stay in any old hostel. We were looking for somewhere to stay on a trip to Boston and had decided that a guest house would be a happy medium. However, they weren’t that cheap and when I had a look on Expedia and found a Hilton for less money I couldn’t believe my luck!
LOCATION:
This Hilton is located in Boston’s Financial District. It is at 89 Broad Street. Despite it being in the Financial District we found it very easy to walk from the hotel to the main tourist sites of the city. Quincy Market and the Old State House were only 10 minutes walk away.
PRICES:
The price of this particular hotel seems to vary a lot depending on when you stay and who you book through. As the hotel is in the Financial District it puts up a lot of business...

Advantages: Excellent dollar rate, laid back city Disadvantages: Spent too much shopping and did not get to see the famous New England Fall trees!

We stated at the Harvard Square Hotel – a doubletree chain – nothing special but it...

Advantages: Historic, culturally diverse and not too huge a city. Disadvantages: Not many, unless you don't like cities, or America, or fish.
...or threatening. I stepped forward to the passport control, handed over the appropriate documents, and was then subjected to a major grilling regarding the purpose of my visit, the length of my stay, what seeds, meatstuffs and small furry animals I was carrying about my person and why my hair was so short?
Eventually, and without so much as a sneer, far less a smile, the surly skinhead (and he thought MY hair was short?) at the desk deigned to let me through onto the hallowed lino of Logan; Boston’s international airport.
Collecting my bag was fun. Only took 40 minutes and two changes of carousel.
A further unsmiling scrutiny followed, this time by members of the small furry animal and foodstuff police, and I was finally allowed to proceed into the arrivals hall and onwards to find a taxi for the short hop to my downtown hotel.
The taxi...
