Advantages: Convenient to the Centre of town, helpful staff, easy to get to/from Disadvantages: Noisy traffic, no car parking, worst breakfast in the UK!
My company had their Christmas Party at Jury's in London a couple of years ago, so I thought it would be a good bet for my first visit to Belfast.
But it did not compare at all to the Jury's Hotel in London. It was convenient to get to from the Belfast City Airport - taxi cost 7 pounds sterling, and the room rate was not bad for a business/work week stay at 65 pounds sterling per night (the rack rate on the wall is 71 and their website ... ...to book them for you!) The lobby area was marble and nice looking, and the staff was helpful - complimentary newspapers, etc., but when I got to my room, it was a disappointment - the paint was chipped in the bathroom around the mirror, the furnishings could use an update, and the traffic was very noisy since I overlooked the main street. It was convenient to get to from the Belfast City Airport - taxi cost 7 pounds sterling, and the room rate was not bad for a business/work week stay at 65 pounds sterling per night (the rack rate on the wall is 71 and their website is 69, so it pays to get your travel agent to book them for you!) The lobby area was marble and nice looking, and the staff was helpful - complimentary newspapers, etc., but when I got to my room, it was a disappointment - the paint was chipped in the bathroom around the mirror, the furnishings could use an update, and the traffic was very noisy since I overlooked the main street. I had a great view of the church across the street, however, the spotlights that shone all night through my curtains were not nice!
On a positive note, the hotel was just a half block from the Grand Opera House, so I would walk to see a play and walk back, via the pubs!
So, I was looking forward to the 'Irish Breakfast' which is usually large and delicious.
But alas, the breakfast was shockingly horrible - Burned croissants, watery grapefruit juice from a machine, rubbery fried eggs and undercooked bacon. Oh, and not enough toast (undercooked, too).
And it was extra on my bill at 7.95 pounds! when many UK hotels do bed with a better breakfast included.
The final annoyance was that there was no parking at the hotel, so if you rented a car, you had to double park in the taxi zone and risk the ire of the cab drivers, unload bags, then find the parking lot, and tromp back to the hotel.
The staff were really helpful and informative - too bad the management couldnt do something about the chipped paint/bedspreads and those eggs YUCKY.
Next time, I will try the Europa - it is more expensive but sounds good, from Bazza's review!
And should you go to London, the Jury's there is really nice - sumptuous, posh - great!
Advantages: Central Location and Low Price Disadvantages: Rooms extremely warm (not really that big a disadvantage!)
...up in a room with a naked man!! But really l dont think we can blame the hotel!
So should anyone be visiting Belfast and your looking for cheap but comfortable accomodation - look no further that Jurys Inn on Great Victoria Street. Excellent quality and value. ...

Advantages: Comfortable, centrally located Disadvantages: Breakfasts
I've stayed here a couple of times when staying the night in Belfast, for 2 reasons, I used to work in a building across the road (I'm strange like that!) and also it's centrally located, so within staggering distance of some of the best pubs in Belfast.
Jury's is a modern hotel, built across the road from Church House, and the Spires Mall shopping centre, so if you have a room facing Church House, the bell's tolling could be slightly annoying at ... ...The bathrooms are all equipped with a bath/shower and are reasonably sized.
There are all the usual facilities in the room, such as satellite tv, hairdryer and trouser press, and the hotel doesn't offer room service, but there is both a bar and a restaurant in the hotel, although I haven't eaten in either of these.
My only let down with this hotel were the breakfasts. They attempted to charge me over £10 per person for me & my fiancé, and whenever ...

Advantages: Centrally Located Disadvantages: Interigation!!!
I stayed at this hotel over the new year with my friend. the room that we paid for was for 3 adults. On arrival we had a big fight with the reception staff who said that they had no recolection of out booking, which could be understood as it was new years eve and things can be a little caotic. When we eventually got our keys, we found the room to be very basic, but had all the nessesities. We went to the hotel bar, where we paid alost £9 for two ... ...not help, as he was strugeling to undertand english never mind glaswigian! After a fabulous night out in the city, me and my friend arrived back at the hotel separately, only to be interogated on, why I never had a card, bearing in mind that they only issued us with one! To top it all off we were constantly being told to turn out music down, ON NEW YEAR!! I would recommend this hotel for the slightly older clientel. But for young, crazy party goers, ...

BELFAST
I stayed at Jury's BelfastInn, which is in the center of town, but although the staff was professional and helpful, the rooms and breakfast were not. I went out for supper to the Red Panda for chinese food, across the road and a block to the right of the hotel. The portions were good and the food tasty - I had beef and broccolli which I dont get to have much in my part of the UK, as I would like to (West midlands chineses restaurants dont seem to like their greens as much as I do!).
On the way back from the restaurant, we stopped at The Crown, a wonderful pub full of character and characters! The seating is surrounded by low ...
