It's also directly opposite Christchurch Cathedral, and just around the corner from St. Patrick's Cathedral. So you're ideally located whatever your preference; a night on the tiles, followed by a Sunday service the following morning to confess your sins of the night before. Mind you, both the city's main Cathedrals are of the Protestant persuasion, so probably don't go in for confession. (But that's another story!)

...Jury's ChristchurchInn in Dublin is ideally situated opposite the Christchurch cathedral in the city, a short walk from Dublin castle and the main streets in Dublin where you will find the majority of the bars and restuarants.
The hotel can be reached easily from Dublin's airport, using either a taxi (around £20) or the special Airlink bus service that operates frequently between Dublin's airport and the river.
The hotel is fairly modern, and the rooms though not luxurious, do offer a good standard of accomodation, with full en-suite facilities, orthapedic beds and satellite television facilities.
The hotel is a family hotel and does allow kids to stay - this may be a problem for some, as the last thing you want on your romantic break away is a load of screming kids in the hotel foyer - especially if they are someone else...

...as you're looking towards the river. Buy you fish and chips downstairs, carry it to the first floor and try to get a seat by the big window that looks onto O Connell Street - just watch Dublin moving by! Burdocks is south of the river, across the road from Christchurch and just around the corner from Jury's Inn. It is famous in Dublin as the "best chipper, ever". You cannot sit down there, however. Take your chips into Christchurch and sit on the grass, or, if you walk out of Burdocks, turn left and keep going in this direction you'll find a quaint little park just past Jury's with seats. Be warned! Burdocks close their door when they run out of food, which is often, so get there early for your lunch (12.30ish).
Bewleys cafes were once the preferred coffee houses for Dubliners. They shocked everyone by closing a few years ago...

I booked this hotel because I thought it was a bargain at £40 for a triple room, which was cheaper than us getting a taxi home! The location of the hotel is great, it is just a few mins walk from the train station, it is opposite the centre for life and... more
