Jurys Inn, Leeds is a reasonably priced hotel that is a 10 minute walk both from the train station and shopping centre of Leeds. We stayed here one weekend in August 09 and it cost us £60 per night for a room with a double bed and a sofa bed (though it would have been squashed with 3 of us).
We found the hotel clean and presentable, with reasonable facilities, but very soulless. The staff were polite, although reserved rather than warm. It is part of a chain of hotels, and I got the impression that probably every other hotel in this chain is exactly like this one.
Checkout was at 12, though you could extend this (at a price). The facilities in the room were fairly standard for a budget hotel chain - there was a fair selection of tea and coffee, a desk with internet connection point, a television with more channels than we could hope to watch, and an en suite bathroom with a wall-mounted combined shampoo/soap dispenser. There was a lift to all floors and the rooms seemed large enough to navigate between the furniture with a wheelchair, though the bathroom might have been slightly trickier.
Room service from the hotel's restaurant was available, although the selection was not inspiring. As well as the restaurant, the hotel also had a bar and coffee shop, but we didn't use these. There were plenty of other eating and drinking establishments very close to the hotel. Perhaps a little too close in fact - we could hear people in the square below until nearly 3am! The Tapas bar served an excellent Sunday brunch - definitely go there if you want a leisurely meal!
There were several stag and hen parties staying at this hotel, who were very lively and enthusiastic as they set off around 8-9pm - we didn't find them a problem, but if you are after a restful stay then this might not be the place for you. We didn't see many families when we were there, but the hotel claims the rooms are suitable for 2 adults and 2 children - we thought they would be very cramped fitting 4 people in.
Having a car in Leeds city centre is a bit of a nuisance, so we came by train instead. Apparently, there is a special deal with a nearby multistorey car park if you do have a car, but it's pretty pricey.
All in all, I found this hotel OK, but very uninspiring. I would come here again because of its cheap price and convenient location. I wouldn't pay much more than £60 a night for a room here though.
