I booked this hotel because I thought it was a bargain at £40 for a triple room, which was cheaper than us getting a taxi home! The location of the hotel is great, it is just a few mins walk from the train station, it is opposite the centre for life and about 2 mins from the metro radio arena. It is also just a few mins to bars and restaurants.
There is no parking at the hotel but there is Times Square car park across the road where you can park for £9 per 24 hours. You can drive to right to the entrance of the hotel, for dropping off picking up and there always seemed to be taxis outside.

The entrance of the hotel is in a courtyard type area with the hotel at one end and offices and apartments at the other. Our room overlooked this area which I was very pleased about as there is a busy road on one side and a street of bars on the other side of the hotel which I imagine would be noisy!

The receptionists were friendly, as checked us in quickly. Our room was located on the 3rd floor. The room wasn't overly spacious due to the fact it had a double bed and a single bed but there was plenty of room for what we needed and we weren't intending spending a lot of time in it. The bathroom was quite big with a bath with shower, toliet and sink and two big mirrors on the walls. Both the room and bathroom were very clean.

The only complaint about the room was the pillows, they are really flat, and we only got two extra ones which still didn't make the size of one normal pillow. I'm sure we could have asked for extras though.
We did notice you can hear a lot through the walls, such as the shower running and people shouting and the doors slam shut very loudly! This wasn't great during the night when we were trying to sleep, it was probably one of the many hen and stag parties that were staying in the hotel, but as we were also there on a night out we didn't mind too much! For this reason it might not be best for families, but as Newcastle attracts a lot of stag and hen parties you will find them in every hotel.

Our rate didn't include breakfast, we were informed on check in that it was £8.95 each if we wanted it.

I would definately stay here again, especially if the prices are low again (though this was probably due to it being the weekend after new year and it was freezing!). If staying here I would ask for a room facing the courtyard and ask for one on a floor that isn't occupied by groups (unless you are also having a big night out too!).
