As mentioned in my last review, I was recently on a trip to Dublin. The main part of my holiday apart from experiencing the city is to me the accommodation. I have been to many hotels but not all I would return to although I have to say I cannot fault the Jury's Inn Parnell Street. A hotel is of course where I stay and want to be in a good location. I have heard of Jury's Inn's because I know where I live in Edinburgh they have them and I have heard positive things about them.

Only going away for a short break I was looking for something quite cheap but not to the extent of hostel cheap. The rating for this hotel was 3 stars which is what I will always start at and no lower. The website was where I booked it and everything was easy to navigate. Going with friends I wanted a triple and it asks if you want three single beds or a double and a single etc. The price was roughly £50 a night for the room which I found really good so I booked it.

For this price I was not getting breakfast included but that didn't really bother me as I wanted to go out for breakfast anyway. So, on arrival outside looked very nice it was all glass and the clear Jury's Inn sign was above the doors. The reception area to me was actually more posh than I expected it was very sophisticated and looked a higher rating than it was. The staff were all smiley and very welcoming. Check-in was not meant to be until 3 but on arriving at 11 my room was already done.

At check-in I was asked if I wanted a wake up call, breakfast etc. The breakfast sounded ok until I asked the price which was €12 per person, not so cheap so I decided to leave that. So I was given a card as were my friends to get into the room. The lift was easy enough to use and the hotel has 4 floors I'm sure but I had a 2nd floor room. It seemed to be a very busy hotel always with coaches downstairs a lot of groups and nationalities which I quite liked, it's better than an empty hotel.

Getting onto the 2nd floor I noticed the restaurant which actually looked quite nice, it was always really busy and there was even a bar on the same floor for guests who wanted a drink before going to bed or even to drink in the hotel instead of looking for a bar. I never used it but it did look like quite a classy bar and it was far away from the room so that there was no noise to be heard.

The walk to the rooms is quite short although one of the doors stuck and was difficult to push. Finally, getting into the room I was very impressed it was quite big and nicely decorated in the red and orange Jury's colours. There was a kettle and tea/coffee making sachets. Also towels, pillows it was all nicely laid out. However, the view was a bit of a disappointment it was of the back of some business with trolleys and builders who made quite a bit of noise during the day. The hotel was quiet apart from the usual noisy guests and the walls were thin too.

Going into the bathroom it was very nice and clean, all up to date. The good thing I wasn't expecting was the air conditioning for the price I paid I didn't expect it but I did get it. It was easy enough to work and in the heat it was nice to walk into a cool room. Going back down to the reception area there were a lot of leaflets for attractions and shops and thanks to this I got a free gift at the Hard Rock Café.

Not all of the staff were nice though some were less friendly. Usually on asking directions there was always one member who could usually help on getting to the popular attractions. On the last day I had to check out early but my flight wasn't due til late evening so I asked to keep luggage until then which was all done very easily. Also they ordered the taxi no problem. The marble floor is a nice touch to the hotel as is the lounge area which I noticed a lot of guests using.

So, the location of the hotel I'd say was excellent. Parnell Street is just on the corner of O'Connell Street which is one of Dublin's main streets everything can be found here. It is seconds away from a supermarket, 5 minutes away from the bus office with all information and bus stops are again minutes away, there is a major post office nearby as are there souvenir shops, a cinema, Trinity College, Dublin Castle 20 minutes walk. The LUAS which is their tram is 10 minutes walk. I found this hotel to be in an excellent location although I was sick and tired of walking by the end.

I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to make a stop in Dublin without having to pay a phenomenal amount of money. All rooms have a Yellow Pages equivalent so that you can find your way and the TV is a good reception, also lots of sockets.

To book a room just go to http://www.jurysdoyle.com/ for a great deal. All hotels have photos to show what they look like and the Parnell ones are very accurate. They have more than one hotel in Dublin though but I'd say this is the best location for those wanting to be near everything including Temple Bar the main nightlife area.
