We grabbed some drinks and went in -not what I was expecting at all!!
It was amazing! We walked into the big theatre which was taylor made for the show and very impressive, found our seats (good leg room and very comfy). Walked through MGM and saw a couple of elaborately dressed entertainers which got us hyped up for the show, and you queue near the shop so it gives you a little impression of what your going to get. We grabbed some drinks and went in -not what I was expecting at all!! It was amazing! We walked into the big theatre which was taylor made for the show and very impressive, found our seats (good leg room and very comfy). But what I wasn't expecting was the stage - as there wasn't one, just a small wall surrounding what should be one , and a dark deep abyss beyond. Even more impressive was the fire, it was just shooting up from where the stage should be, and you can feel the heat on your face.
A memorably moment happened next with speakers in the headrest of the seats - dragon type sounds rumbled and shocked my daughter so much she threw her coke over me - very funny now (not so at the time I was soaked). The show warms up by being very much audience involved as the aisles, walls and ceilings came alive with the characters. The set up was amazing! You weren't just looking at a stage, you ended up looking above, left, right, and behind - brilliant!
The show started properly with the "stage" Appearing in the stlye of a boat, then as the show progressed turned into a beach, wall - too many to list and I wouldn't want to give too much of the show away, alot of effeort went into making this production and that wasn't lost on me.
The stunts in the show had both myself and my daughter on the edge of our seats quite alot, and the new pirates of the carribean film has taken on some of the stunts in this show - the show absolutly trumped the film as the show is live, and wasn't retouched with special effects.
A basic story plot of brother and sister seperated and all that ensues, to get back together safetly, and a token baddy to boo (I love pantos!)
Anyhow the show has amazing choreography, music, stunts, humour and visual delights for all ages. If you want a thriller with plots and twists go and watch a scorcese movie. However if you want an evening of pure entertainment I'd highly recommend .
Some people might question the price, but considering the whole package, it's a bargain.
Advantages: Colourful show and ok for acrobatics Disadvantages: Plot was weak, not as spectacular as I had imagined
...the lack of Fire as KA I thought meant Fire, and I had to settle for a few minor explosions.
The music was quite good and the acrobatics and animal outfits/acts were good.
My overall view was that this show was ok, I have seen similar acrobatic performances in Convent Garden - London and whilst it was entertaining I would not recommend paying a lot of money to see the show. ...
