Advantages: Cheap, friendly place to visit, interesting architecture. Disadvantages: Might not last too long in its current state. Freezing cold in winter.
th floor although this was sadly being renovated during our stay. The rooms are fine and spacious with comfortable beds and very secure with key card access to each corridor. Food is very reasonable with bar meals at around 4L and beers at 1.5L per 0.5 litre. Breakfast was included in our rate and the only one of our party, who happened to arrive back at the hotel at the right time, reliably informs me that it was to a good standard. Most of us barely saw the morning side of midday, never mind breakfast. The basement houses a nightclub called Voodoo (open until around 6 am) and casino (open 24 hours, apparently), both of which are also rated amongst the best in town.
The hotel was great and reasonably cheap (£130 per person for three nights) and about a 10-minute leisurely walk from Old Town itself. We did splash out on the hotel ...

Advantages: A reasonable price for Finland, great breakfast, very clean and comfortable Disadvantages: Rooms are quite small, lack of parking spaces may be a problem for some
This bed and breakfast is situated close to the bus station and just five minutes walk from the very centre of town. We arrived in Turku by train and walked the route in ten minutes so the location is good yet still quiet.

There is an entry buzzer to let you in; once you check in you'll have a key for this door. The B and B is up a couple of flights and there's no lift. It's not too bad but people with mobility problems should be aware of this.
We hadn't booked in advance but there was a room available. We were checked in without fuss and while the owner wasn't effusive she was friendly enough. The bedrooms are off the main corridor as are the shared shower rooms. This does mean a certain amount of noise as ...
Advantages: You are given your own front door's keys so you can come and go as you please. Disadvantages: You will need to share the bathroom with the other room.
I stayed at this bed & breakfast in May 2009 and found it easygoing, friendly and comfortable. It is a very informal & quiet place; the best way to describe it is by saying that the rooms look like you are staying at your best (girl)friend's house for the week end (basically, it has a very homely feeling). It is ideal if you are visiting York for 2-3 days or for a quite week end there. £30 per person, per night. The owner can arrange for all sorts of breakfasts (special diets, etc) and she will cook them in the kitchen in front of your eyes while you sit at the table. It is about 10 min walk from the city centre and from the train station. ...
