I am from Edinburgh. Recently, I took a trip to Birmingham to visit a college to which I have applied. I went with my partner and we decided to make a weekend of it.
We chose to go to KFC for some lunch on one of the days. My experience of KFC in the past had been reasonably good - the service being much the same as in any fast food outlet, but the food being far superior.
At this particular KFC Outlet (near the main station). I received service ... ...to KFC. The food was good never the less.
I may have a Scottish accent, but it is by no means broad, and I had had no problems with folk in Birmingham understanding me.. until then. I had to say my order three times, and the server still got it wrong. Not once was there a "Sorry, what was that..?" it was simply "Eh...?". Whilst I appreciate I am from a different part of the country, it is no excuse to treat me like filth. Which is what I felt like ...
