I quickly read through the titles of the KLM opinion page and I really don't agree that they're a 'nice friendly airline', I think they are the absolute worst of airlines you could ever catch!
My experience with KLM, was when I was returning to England with my daughter (3 months old at the time). Now, I do expect certain services when it comes to taking your children on long haul flights, (the flight with KLM was from Los Angeles to Amsterdam, then back to London), like SERVICE!
I previously flown with Air New Zealand from Auckland - Tahiti - Los Angeles and they were absolutely wonderful, I can't praise them enough.
However, with KLM, the staff were rude, and they first tried to tell me to put my 3 month old daughter on the floor of a normal economy seat! Are they mad or what!?
There's no way a baby is going to fit there, what made my blood boil even more was that I couldn't have the seat in which had a basinette because there was another lady sitting there that couldn't fit into the other seats because she was too big! I couldn't believe it!
So, anyway, after I'm starting to get worked up and my daughter is started to get hungry and wants her food, I eventually get the basinette seat.
I pressed the help button when I needed my daughters milk to be warmed up - they never came, they said to do it yourself! That is no word of a lie folks!
I knew every compartment of that plane's kitchen, while I was trying to warm up her food, my daughter was screaming her little lungs out and really starting to p*ss other passengers off. I don't blame them for getting annoyed, but that was just tuff! I had a daughter to feed and nobody would help me!
We got off the flight, and I'm embarrassed to say that I have never stunk so badly in my life! It was a long and exhausting trip and I never want to repeat it. My daughter was diagnosed with a chest infection - probably from crying so much.
I wrote a letter of complaint to KLM, and I did recieve one little tiny response that read 'We are looking in to it'.
Well, I'm sorry but that just does not cut the cake at all! A full refund would have been better as well as wages for doing the 'customer service' job that they themselves should've been doing.
So as you can tell, and you can probably understand, that these guys are the worst! If you are travelling with children - get another plane!
Apart from that it might well be alright for couples or singles.
