KLM is a very mixed bag for passengers from the UK. Plus points include excellent leg room and comfort in economy class. Staff and courtesy good and catering of a high quality. This together with the very low prices obtainable on flights to long distance destinations make it a winning combination.

However there are minus points:
in flight entertainment is poor - a key issue on a long haul flight, when compared with Virgin which offer individual control and choice of films, programmes, games etc.
Connections - we have had a bad experience with KLM from Manchester - our flight to Amsterdam was delayed it became clear that we were to miss our connection but despite trying we were unable to contact a representative of KLM to clarify the situation on what was to happen. On the flight we were only told to go to the transfer desk - on arrival at Amsterdam for the first time (it is a vast airport) we were lost and having found the transfer desk told that we have been transferred onto a later flight with a further 5 hours to wait - in total over 12 hours from arriving at Manchester to taking off in Amsterdam with no apology, no food of any description and seats allocated several rows apart.
Not a promising start - KLM need to improve communiations with customers and keep them informed - we have arrangements too and need to know what is going on!
