...I have had my Kodak DC3200 for 2 years upon writing this review. During the rise and now establishment of the large digital photography era, I have not yet winced and still can not be parted with it. I get laughed at, taunted, and my leg has come out of my socket so many times from being pulled... but hey, those laughs look good on the pictures! Still I won't let that phase my love for my Kodak digital camera, even though I was offered a tenner for ... ...Kodak are quite rightly the top of the game in the camera world, especially renowned for film and film developing so taking up the challenge of making hardware themselves must have been a big reputation risk. They have done fantastically and now I call Kodak, the "Sony" of photography.
You could probably pick up the DC3200 for around £50 or so now, perhaps cheaper, and it is a bargin. I bought mine on sale from £140 to £100 two years ago from PC ...

Advantages: reasonable price, good quality, easy to use Disadvantages: memory card expensive, fairly bulky
...succumbed and bought myself a Kodak DC3200 digital camera. They cost about £150, although this can vary, and it is a very good beginners camera.
It is black and not one of the smallest digital cameras I have seen. It will fit in my handbag, but my bag is quite big!! It doesn’t look to me, particularly funky, but the results belie the look of the camera.
I took it to my parents golden wedding celebrations (along with my SLR) and it must be said ... ...did get a bit of stick from my Uncle and father, both of whom ribbed me constantly about my “cheats” camera!
ABOUT THE CAMERA:
It takes photos which can be printed off up to 5”x7”, according to Kodak’s literature. I have tried up to A4 with reasonable success if I use my Adobe 6 software, rather than the one that comes with it!
It has a CCD RESOLUTION of 1.2 megapixels (1280x960)
IMAGE RESOLUTION of 1.0 megapixels (1152x864 on high)
(576x432 ...

Advantages: great for first timers, and people who dont need good quality pictures. Disadvantages: wont produce brilliant photo like pictures.
...trouble the brain.
The Kodak dc3200 also has a 2x digital zoom. This means you can zoom in on the image once it has been taken. Therefore this way the image quality fades a bit. An optical zoom is where the lens can focus in more closely on the image, but sadly this camera hasn't got that.
It also has a 1.6 inch lcd viewing screen on the back. With this feature you can look at the pictures that you have already taken. This feature is not available ... ...too much (and it is tempting to do so), you are likely to run down the batteries, and believe me, digital cameras drink batteries. So i would therefore recommend you buy a battery charger with your camera, as you'll save money in the long run, on buying new batteries.
If you want you can buy a compact flash digital film card. These cards fit into the camera, and it means you can store more pictures. It is basically like a floppy disk. It can be ...

Advantages: Good camera. not too expensive. Disadvantages: none
...needed. I bought a Kodak DC3200 it cost me £160 at the time. When I bought it I also got with it some batteries, Kodak software, a lead to connect it to my computer and a user guide. The user guide is quite thick, but to my pleasure only the first 57 pages were written in English. It was very well documented and clear to understand. It explains everything to you in plain English. It has many diagrams to help ensure you understand exactly what it’s ... ...to get help. Software help, Kodak on line services, Kodak fax support and telephone customer support.

9. Appendix.
I have had no problems in understanding any of it. It was very helpful.
The software was very easy to install and went in with no problems at all. Trust me if there are any problems to do with installing any software, I am sure as hell to find them. On the software ...

Advantages: very simple operation Disadvantages: you need to spend extra money
...to think that in 1900 kodak brought out the simple brownie camera that cost only £1.
In fairness to other digital cameras this one does have some features which i dislike. I do not like the fact that the lens in fixed-focus rather than auto-focus, And thier is no zoom, macro or even a lens cap! To trandfer images onto your computer you have to use an older and slower serial cable instead of an usb cable, And last you are forced to use kodak's image-transfer ... ...i did have to call kodak for one little question, and thay had my question awnsered in about 3-4 minutes, so they do back thier products. If you go to thier website you can see an interactive demo of this camera.
While this camera works alright for me, i now think that it would have been worth the extra money to buy one with a zoom lens, but i shall make do with this one just now. Maybe i'll make enough money from ciao to buy a new one!
If you ...

Advantages: Excellent picture quality and easy to use. Disadvantages: No printed manual.
...About 3 years ago I bought a KodakDC3200 Digital camera which I now felt I had "grown out of" .
So I started looking for another easy to use camera with higher picture quality and a "movie mode" .
Most of the pictures I take are of animals (mainly horses) so a good optical zoom is essential.
My top price limit was £150 so I conducted a series of web based comparisons and price searches and was astonished to find a 5 megapixel camera within my price range. I purchased it from Amazon (post free) the camera arrived within 48hrs excellent service.
The camera comes complete with a good quality battery but generally speaking rechargables are essential for Digital Cameras fortunately I already have some from my old camera so the only extra I need is a memory card to increase the capacity of the camera and camera case (which...

Advantages: compact and feature packed Disadvantages: still trying to find one
...i upgraded from a kodakdc3200 1.3m pixel to this hp735 3.2 m pixel camera for the zoom capabilities but was surprised by all the other features, i have had the camera for two weeks and am still finding more things that the camera is capable of.
the first thing i will say is get more memory because 16mb of inbuilt is nowhere near enough i have got a 64mb and 128mb, you will find out later why.
this is a great point and shoot camera with 3 differant quality settings, 81 shots on best quality on a 128mb card and 817 shots on lowest quality. it has several modes timer, continious shooting, macro, sport, landscape, portrait, f2.6, f4.9 and auto.
the camera flash has auto, anti red eye, constant or off.the lcd is large and clear and the functions and options displayed are easy to understand and use.
now the reason for the memory upgrade i...

Advantages: End of line at reduced price, Good quality Disadvantages: Slow transfer speed
...I set myself a budget of £150 for a megapixel digital camera, which, so far as I could tell limited me to one camera, the KodakDC3200. Wandering into my local Jessops I was pointed in the direction of the MX-1200, an end of line product which has been replaced with the Finepix 1300.
There is quite little difference between the two cameras actually, there are some differences in the style of the casing, but they are the same size and appear to have most of the same features. The only thing that may annoy some people is the lack of a USB connection, everything being done through a serial connection.
The camera also features other essentials like an LCD screen and a 2x digital zoom. Also of use to many will be the Macro function which allows you to get down to within about 10cm of your subject and still produce sharp pictures. Using...
