After talking about going on holiday since last year with my other half and two other friends we finally booked our weeks holiday in Jan 2002 with Travelcare. Our total holiday (including parking and isurance) came to a total of just over £300 per person. Travelcare offered some good deals.
None of us had been to Greece before and we were told Kosmar were a good company to go with as they are Greece specialists. At a previous travel agents though we went into I was told not to go with Kosmar as they had a lot of complaints about them and their service. I was a little unsure about booking with them after being told this but I think that agents were just trying to get us to book one of their holidays (as they are owned by a tour operator)
Before going on holiday Kosmar sent a booklet with lots of useful infomation about visting Greece with the tickets which was very handy.
So, finally after all the talking and planning we set off to Kardamena, Kos last week. When we arrived at Kos airport we were met by a Kosmar rep who got us all on the right coaches and gave us a card for our welcome meeting the next day. When we arrived at our apartments the rep took us up to our room and gave us our keys.
The next day we had our welcome meeting in a local bar where they gave valuble infomation in a nice relaxed atmosphere with a free drink. The reps were very informative and offered a wide range of trips and days out and car hire. We decided which trips we wanted to do and booked them with the rep and paid the next day.
Our rep visited every day except for her one day off and was always very helpful and polite. Kosmar also had an office in Kardamena which was handy if you wanted to ask any questions or find anything out when your rep wasn't about. All of the reps which we came in contact with were very helpful and polite.
The trips which we went on was a trip to an active volcano on the island of Nisyross, a BBQ boat trip and a trip to the waterpark. All trips were very good value for money. All three in total totalled to aprox £50 which we thought was good. All were excellent. We had three reps on the BBQ boat trip, a rep at the waterpark and was met by guide who was working for Kosmar when we got to Nisyross. All were there if we needed them.
The accomodation was excellent. (Tonys 2 apartments and studios) the only thing that I would suggest to anyone going with Kosmar - especially to Kardamena would check what kind of people are staying in the hotel/apartments as our apartments were mainly filled with young people and did get quite noisy in the early hours a couple of times and there was a family with 3 children on the first floor who I felt sorry for. The accomodation was exclusive to Kosmar.
Another good thing about Kosmar was where we stayed there was no-where to leave cases on your departure day so everyone could take them to the Kosmar office and they got locked up until we had to be picked up to be taken to the airport.
The reps turned up in plenty of time on the night of departure and told us the bus to get on. When we got to the airport we were once again met by a rep to make sure we all got checked in okay.
We didn't use the Kosmar web page to do any booking but we did look at it to see if it gave any extra infomation. It wasn't really any different to the broucher but it was easy to get around and well designed.
After being told not go with Kosmar I was really pleased with everything that they done and made our holiday better because they gave us three great trips and all the infomation etc that we needed. I would go with them again.
