KK Opera Hotel Budapest

Advantages: Good city centre location, great froiendly staff
Disadvantages: small rooms, poor showers.

buffet and was comprehensive. I didn't drink from the ubiquitous fish tank containing "fresh" orange juice. I gambled on a couple of lumps of pre-dawn scrambled egg and regretted it. But perhaps I'm being unreasonably fastidious. It's at times like this that I think of those millions of people starving in Africa and realise how fortunate I am. The coffee was good too. The reception girls could not have been friendlier. It was raining the day I left and I wanted to buy something from a boutique round the corner. There was a rack full of umbrellas - just what I needed - nice touch. The room girl was also really friendly too - I don't beg subservience but she curtsied when I left (really!) and wished me a good voyage - in English - cute. KK Hotels are also in London, Paris, Prague, Munich and Bucharest ...

Review of K + K Hotel Opera, Budapest

Nice hotel, be aware of transportation issues

Advantages: Nice rooms
Disadvantages: Transportation

Location: The hotel it's situated in the north part of the Bucharest, which it's the nicest are and, of course, the most expensive. There is a lot of greenery here, lots of parks and lakes. The hotel is situated on the shore of Tei Lake and the vegetation around it really gives it a very nice look. Both airports in Bucharest are in the north part so the hotel it's only 10 minutes away from the Baneasa Airport (used more by low cost companies) and about 20 to 40 minutes, depending on the traffic, to the Otopeni Airport (commercial airlines). Very good location, however be aware that public transportation is not handy. To go and come from the hotel you will most likely have to use a taxi, which can be costly at times, depending on the distance. Make sure you ask the reception to call a company cab for you, private taxi are a rip off ...

Nice Hotel Shame About The Neighbours

Advantages: Conveniently located for Wenceslas Square, Fairly Central, Good Transport Links
Disadvantages: Very Close to two "Cabaret Clubs"

Address: Ve Smečkách 30, 110 00 Prague 1 Tel.: 00420-2250 12 000 Fax: 00420-2222 12 141 Email: hotel.fenix@kkhotels.cz Website: http://www.kkhotels.com/index.asp?ID=281 This hotel is located just off of Wenceslas Square in central Prague and is approximately 25 minutes drive from Prague airport. The airport bus, which links the airport to the metro system at Dejvická, minibuses and taxis are available for transfer from the airport to the centre of Prague. The metro station closest to the hotel is Muzeum. The hotel itself is bright, very modern and absolutely spotless; the rooms are comfortable and well furnished with all the basics that one needs. Some may consider the rooms a bit on the small size, but I had a single room and there was enough room for me, and I'm not a small guy; anyway I never plan to spend a lot of time ...
