Uniquestay Hotel Tallinn

Advantages: Great location, good price, free internet and well appointed rooms
Disadvantages: Not for those looking to party

Have just returned from a Conference in Tallinn and had the pleasure to stay in the Uniquestay Hotel. The price was £41 which was great especially as I took my 18yr old son so needed 2 rooms. The staff on reception were friendly and helpful and from the very first impressions it was a wise choice. My room was large, well decorated with wooden floors, tea and coffee making facilities and free computer and internet access. Breakfast was in their lovely restaurant and had a great choice even for vegetarians. The location was brilliant, just a short walk through a lovely park to the old town which is great for a city break with plenty of museums, lots of history, shopping centres, restaurants etc- would definitely visit again ...

A Tallinn of Two Cities

Advantages: The residue of earlier centuries
Disadvantages: The residue of the Soviet era

playground for water sports, including yachting and boating facilities used during the 1980 Olympics. Also at Pirita are the Botanical Gardens, and there is a beach, very popular with the locals, which we never reached, maybe just as well since the weather was poor and the Baltic is one of the world?s most polluted seas. * Restaurants, Cafés and Hotels * There are plenty of eateries and drinkeries in old town Tallinn, the centre of which becomes quite lively in the evening. For better or worse most seem to be there primarily for the tourists, which may be one of the reasons they are not particularly cheap. All cuisines are represented (just around the central square one quickly notices an Indian restaurant, a pizzeria and an Irish pub). As usual, we aimed to seek out local fare. Estonian food is not noted for its ...

Whittlebury Hall Hotel and Spa

Advantages: Pleasant staff, facilities, closeness to Silverstone
Disadvantages: Remoteness

the buffet as many times as you like. However, it can be difficult to get served tea/coffee. Quite a few times I've had to go without because I've been running late and not able to get a responsive member of staff to serve me. The hotel markets itself as being a spa and corporate events hotel and also makes a lot of the fact that it is located very close to Silverstone race course. I sometimes feel that there's a bit of a contradiction between being a spa and a corporate events hotel. I remember being at the hotel on Valentine's Day a couple of years ago while on a course and there were lots of couples who were staying there on one of their spa deals - most of the couples weren't particularly appreciative of the fact that they were sharing their fine dining experience with several tables of rowdy twenty somethings taking advantage of the free ...
