Kapital Club

Advantages: Big, with lots of dance space
Disadvantages: not the best atmosphere

The Kapital club is billed as the biggest club in Madrid, it has five floors and lots of bars, the top floor has a movie lounge, the 4th floor is a cocktail and karioky bar, and the three floors below each have a dance floor playing a different type of music.

Insted of paying for your drinks at the bar you are given a card on which the bar tender writes down what drinks you have had, you then present this card at the till on your ...
...loose your card as they won't let you out of the club without it. (they will assume that you are trying to get away with not paying for your drinks.)

The people in this club were all young and realy dressed up for a night out and are mainly young spanish people who come from all over the city and the surounding areas. I found the people to have quite a lot of attitude, and it wasn't the best atmosphere I've ever experienced in a club, ... more

Famous Burial Ground

Advantages: Full of history. Spooky. The grave of Karl Marx
Disadvantages: Entrance Fee

the pretty dreadful conditions then existing in London's graveyards. The Eastern cemetery was added in 1854. At such places there was grave over-crowding, grave-robbing,especially by medical students in search of cadavers and even body-snatching. The cemetery was initially conceived of as something of a sylvan retreat. It is very easy to find Marx's grave. The large well-kept headstone proclaims his final resting place. I suppose you could argue that the "Father of Communism" is the "Star of Highgate". Born in Trier,Germany in 1818,the political philosopher settled in England in 1849 where he wrote his magnum opus, Das Kapital in 1867. He died in 1883. Marx is by no means the only famous person buried at Highgate. Famous scientists like Michael Faraday, the first person to liquefy gases and Professor Jacob Brownowski are buried there ...

The life and death of Qin Shihuangdi

Advantages: An amazing opportunity to view artefacts from the tomb of China's First Emperor.
Disadvantages: Limited amount of artefacts. The crowds!!!!

to climb on, it promises to be quite something. Qin Shihuangdi can rest happily in peace. His terracotta army has protected him well over the years! ~~What can be seen in the British Museum's exhibition? ~~ A total of 120 objects have been loaned to the British Museum by the Museum of the Terracotta Warriors and Horses of Shihuang and the Shaanxi Cultural Relics Bureau in Xi'an, China. They have been mounted in the famous Round Reading Room at the centre of the British Museum. (Famous as the room where Karl Marx wrote Das Kapital and Gandhi worked). The Reading Round, usually preserved for special study, is not generally used for exhibitions making it just that little bit extra special. An elevated display area has been constructed in the reeading room. Acess is achieved by a flight of stairs to the entrance and egress from ...
