We had a great time at Karaka Tree Motel in Taupo - the motel is just across the road from Lake Taupo and has AMAZING geothermal pools in every room - ours was huge - and very refreshing to lounge around in with a glass of wine after we had walked around all day.
The manager there was lovely and really helpful - he helped us organise our trip, and gave us good advice on what was going on in Taupo during our stay there. The room was big and comfortable and it was pretty quiet and had a kitchne and microwave, which was really handy. The towels were nice and fluffy and the room had all the toilettries we needed.
We would really recommend this place to anybody who wants to relax...
