We visited this park in August 2004. There were 2 of us adults 1 baby and 2 kids aged 6 and 9. First impressions of the site were that it was very pleasant. Phil was friendly, and the field we were in had beautiful views of the sea just 1 mile away. Then we made the grim discovery of the toilet block. Apart from it being a quarter of a mile treck away in ankle high mud (the owners were too tight to put the gravel down on the driveway , even though there was a huge mound there which everyone tripped up over) the toilets also smelt disgusting and most of the seats were broken. The showers cost 20p for 2 minutes worth of hot water, so unless you was the manager of the bank of 20p's you had an ice cold shower. Everyone was complaining about the charges for hot water, i even met someone whilst out walking one day who actually told me he stopped using this campsite this year because although he had been many times before
he was sick of having to pay for hot water when the site was not particularly cheap in the first place, and the owners doing nothing about the complaints. It also cost about £6 to wash your clothes each load not including the washing tablets and 20p for half a sick full of hot water to hand wash your clothes in, which they managed to make sure you payed plenty for, as these sicks do not come with plugs!! (how convienient!) I resorted to washing my babies bottles in the make up room where i could get free hot water AND a plug - ha tricked ya phil! The owners were found to be quite stuck up and rude at times. Although i can say that i never had a problem with phil (apart from his water charges) his wife and children were not very pleasant atall in my experiance. I was always polite to them, but their attitude seemed to be 'were up here and your down there on the bottom of my shoe' Once when in the shop my baby was accidently a little bit sick on the floor as babies are, and the look on their faces was pure disgust. I was given some kitchen roll and told 'ill be needing this' so i proceeded to struggle whilst holding a 6 month old baby who weighed a ton but could not be put down as he couldnt even sit up and 2 heavy carrier bags after just spending a fortune in their ridiculously overpriced shop, wiping the sick up like a proper scrubber in front of everyone whilst they looked on in replulsion. Maybe its just me, but i thought customer service involved a little bit of humour and friendliness and a 'dont worry about that, well sort it' no such thing here, i was far too scummy for that! The wife cooks 'meals' in the evenings in the shop, which really are extortionate for what they are. (£5 or £6 for a small bowl of slop, which you then have to wash the bowl of yourself and return in pristine condition the next morning) I once turned up at 10 to 9, they stop taking orders at 9, and was told i could only have chips as otherwise they would never get to eat any food themselves. Shame. The daughter, Aggie i think shes called, always seemed to see everyone as a complete nuisence in her life and stood in the shop like she was waiting to die or something with a real attitude problem. Again you were looked at in disgust if she actually had to serve you as you were ignorant enough to buy something from the shop. It seemed to me like she had no interest whatsoever in the family business and would much rather be out getting drunk with her mates, which i dont blame her for, why would she want to stand in daddys shop all day talking to tramps covered in mud when she was so perfect herself? but its not MY fault shes there so dont take it out on me woman!! Although the website has rules of the campsite on it, if you hadnt visited the website you would have no idea what they were as we were given no leaflet of rule sheet when we arrived, just a patch of mud. Consequently there was almost a murder commited on the field one night as a bunch of Germans moved in next to us with a shouting screaming brat which didnt go to bed until 11pm, if that screaming brat had woken my baby up theres no saying what i would of done, but it wouldnt of been pleasant. Thankfully they only stayed one night, for their own safety. But maybe this could of been avoided if the owners bothered to make a little leaflet of campsite rules to give out to residents? The website also said that zero tolerence is given to people who disturb others at night, in what way is that? sitting in your house ignoring the problem? more like zero attention!
All in all i wouldnt return to this site either with kids or without. It was expensive for what you got and the customer service was appauling (apart from phil). Not a recommended site, sorry.

Having stayed at this site i can only assume Sally Slater must have under gone serious issues in her life to write such a cutting and untruthful account of the campsite. Never mind the personal comments, all of the facts are untrue. I can now only sympathise with her family and children that have to live with her.
p.s. EXPERIENCE is spelt with an 'E' not an 'A'.

Our attention was drawn to Sally Slater's review whilst we were enjoying a super holiday this June on this delightful family run site.
We were dismayed to read such a bitter and defamatory attack on a lovely, dedicated, extremely hardworking family.
The fact that other guests we met on the site return year after year makes a mockery of Sally's review.
