On holiday me and my fiancé Dave are not the type of people who like to stay in one place and just explore that area, instead we opt for the more adventurous path of getting out and seeing the sights. When given a relatively small island like Corfu we couldn't help but just pinpoint a place on the map and just go not knowing what it will be like. This is how we ended up in Kassiopi and it was quite a pleasant day we spent there.

First impressions:
... ...pleasant to be honest and then the sign for Kassiopi kind of takes you by surprise and diverts you from the main road. When we drove into Kassiopi we thought it was very quaint and I did not think there was anything there as we were driving down these small winding streets that were so long. Also as you are driving around Kassiopi there is not much room for pedestrians and cars so we were panicking about where to park.
When we got out of the streets ...

Advantages: All you need for a family holiday. Disadvantages: Winding roads.
A couple of years ago I took my mother, wife and daughter on a package holiday to the Greek island of Corfu. A thoroughly enjoyable two week holiday.
Arrival:
Moving through Corfu airport was relatively quick and we were soon aboard our coach and bound for the sea side resort of Kassioppi located in the north east of the island. Transfer:
The 20 miles or so from the Airport to Kassioppi is via small winding coastal roads. Inevitable problems passing ... ...Weather in June:
On our journey from the Airport the clouds opened and the rain fell. Boy did it fall. The deluge lasted a mere two or three minutes and virtually flooded the road. However, once the rain stopped so did the flood. This weather is not untypical in early June.
Kassioppi:
Most holiday accommodation is within a ten minute walk of the town centre and small fishing port. The town is packed with restaurants, bars, pubs and shops, including ...

Advantages: Lovely location, friendly people, excellent food. Disadvantages: Can have heavy rain even in the summer months
Myself and my family have been to Kassiopi three years running.
It is a lovely little fishing village, full of very friendly greek people. The main street in the resort is full of bars. they range from karaoke bars to quit bars where you can just go for a quiet drink.
In the time that I have ben there, there has never been any trouble.
Not really a place for young children as there is very little to do for them.
My special needs daughter really ... ...is a must for everyone. They have live greek dancing everynight by the owner and some of the locals.
it is so popular that you have to get there early to get a seat.
The highlight of the night is when Cost does his act he dances with a table gripped in his mouth with two stools on top. You need to see it to believe it. Somewher you need to take your camera to.
There are some very good taverna's as well especially the "three brothers fish one.

...KASSIOPI, CORFU
I spent two weeks in Kassiopi, a little fishing village on the Ionian island of Corfu, in September of this year. And quite frankly, it is such a stunningly gorgeous place that I almost have reservations about promoting it in any way whatsoever …alas, my altruism got the better of me, so here goes!
WHY KASSIOPI? Having decided on a holiday in Greece, my husband and I considered renting a villa on Corfu, together with our 2 year-old son & my in-laws. Characteristically enough, we ended up leaving things to the very last minute, but when it came to booking it really was a case of last come, best served! The company we used, Meon, had one last, lonely Villa left languishing on its books in all of Corfu for the dates we wanted to travel. This was Villa Apanemia, in Kassiopi, and so Apanemia it was. I'd never even...

Advantages: Flight availability, Cheap Food and Drink, Great weather. Disadvantages: Mozzies!
...was Kassiopi which is has a lovely harbour surrounded by some of the best Tavernas on Corfu, all vying for your custom. At night Kassiopi becomes a favourite spot for romantic couples taking a stroll around the harbour.
As you reach the northern coast you have more tourist resorts the biggest of which has to be Sidari . Families with younger children will find Sidari's beach with it's fine sand and shallow warm water a great place to spend the days just lying in the sun or trying one of the many watersport activities on offer, and match this with the abundance of Bars and Tavernas and Sidari is the best all round resort on the Island.
When you start to head south again but this time down the West coast , it's not long until you come to "Paleokastritsa" a beautiful horseshoe bay with sandy coves backed by mountains covered with forests, olive...

Advantages: Perfect holiday destination for peace and quiet Disadvantages: Not so good if you want to dance the night away.
...I've just got back from a week in a little villa just outside Aghios Stefanos, and I thought I'd see what other ciao'ers thought about it. Well there are only two other reviews, and niether seem to be over informative, but the thing that prompted me to write this is that there are actually THREE villages in Corfu with this name and I think the other articles may be about the 'other' two.
For avoidance of doubt, the Aghios Stefanos I visited is on the North East coast at the closest point of the island to mainland Albania, and in between the larger resorts of Kassiopi and Nisaki.
This was our first visit to Corfu. We were looking for peace and quiet in beautiful surroundings with friendly local people and glorious weather. Throw in a little bit of walking and local culture and it would be our perfect holiday. Well I'm happy...
