Katane Palace Hotel ensures to its guests a pleasant stay in an elegant setting, whether you're here on a well-deserved holiday or on business. This 4 stars hotel, elegant and functional, features any kind of services, designed to ensure you a comfortable stay: wireless internet connection in all the property, wired Internet Point, an excellent restaurant, a bar and meeting facilities. Katane Palace Hotel central location will allow you to easily reach by car Corso Italia the main shopping street, the train station, the fair centre and the Duomo cathedral.
Advantages: Very comfortable beds Disadvantages: Location, Poor room service
.... I wished I had booked the Una Palace in Via Etnea, which looked brilliant. It is in the main shopping street with loads of cafes, bars, shops etc. and has a roof terrace which would give brilliant views of the volcano. I thought about moving hotels, but couldn't afford to pay again.
My hotel room was very comfortable and clean with a modern bathroom with the usual toiletries. A reasonable buffet breakfast is included in the price. Room service seemed very restricted – although the bar did toasted sandwiches.
If you are on a tight budget, advance internet booking on Best Western's website gives good value for money for the Hotel Mediterraneo. However, I don’t think this hotel would suit everyone. Another place worth visiting is the cathedral (Duomo), which goes back to 1090.
A word of caution for tourists, there are not too many restaurants in the centre of the town. If you have the time, try and go to Taormina, a beautiful place...

The only ploblem there are the roads the cars will not stop for you,you have to just walk out and years ago when i went to italy it was cheap now the price is gone up.

I stayed at this hotel about 5 years ago and it had recently been refurbished. It is tucked away down a side road but that meant that it was quiet and peaceful. The rooms were large, clean and very nicely decorated with two double beds, good air... more
