Namaste=hello

Nepal, surely an interesting holiday with a lot of things to do! No matter which age, group or travelling by yourself, anybody who likes diffrent cultures and is hungry of a phantastic nature and likes to meet other people has found the right place by choosing Nepal!

The flight to Nepal is worth it a s well. From germany above Austria, the Pamir Mountains in Russia and last but not least above India. Reaching the flight altitude of 10.000m you will have a breathtaking view from your window. Looking out of the window and see mountains –the himalaya- which are still higher than your seat in the aircraft. There is no other word for it than “amazing!”

Immediately you begin to dream. “Mount Everest”. You start your dreams and Iīm sure you will have the same experience like I had. Start a dream which goes on as long as you will be travelling through this beautiful country.

I arrived in Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, and realized how different this country is compared with my home. Everybody seems to be in a hurry, noisy cars, dirty streets, but still a place to feel save an compfort.

From the airport to “downtown” itīs not far. Not far in kilometers, but if there stands a holy cow on the street all the cars are waiting till the cow decides to go back to the field or somewhere else.

Everybody in nepal is very friendly. I first realized it while I arrived at the hotel. I have never been in Nepal before and consequently not in this hotel before. But they welcomed me like I would be a guest for years and years!

Time is ticking in an other way in Nepal, but if you have any questions feel free to ask, īcause all the nepalis try to do their best to make your yourney as an unforgetable. They try everything, if possible or not, they always find a way!!

Swayambunath is a fascinating buddhist temple which is full of monkeys. They settled to the temple and drives not only the tourists crazy. As soon as they see something, looking like food they try to get it.
My pitty was, that they thought my buddha-statue is something to eat….

Poor people are not seldom. Children, old people, handicapt people, nepal has quit a lot. While I walked through Kathmandus street I realized this and I realized an other thing: Even though they do not have much, they look really happy. In some other countries I visited I did not always feel save walking through slums or things like that, but in nepal I always felt save!

Kathmandu has an other so called >must see<. This is a hindu temple and one of the biggest of the world. This is one of 3 places where the dead bodies of all nepalis get burned during the first 24h of their passing away. Their ash will get in the river which is next to the burning places. This river takes its way to the holy ganges river in India.

One of the best memories I do have of this country was my trip to the Royal Chitwan National Park in the terrai of nepal. The terrai is like a palatinate.
This park is close to the border to India (in the south of nepal).
In this natural park, which is a origin jungle you are able to see wild elephants, pythons, bears, monkeys, leopards, rhinos and a lot of other wild animals. It was fascinating to see all those animals in their natural surroundings, which is a dangerous and unforgetable experience!

The flight to nepal with Lauda Air from Germany via Vienna to Kathmandu costs about 366 pounds. It depends on the month you are travelling. In the high season itīs more expensive like everything.
The hotels are really cheep (12US$a night including breakfast) and so is the food.

Finally I want to let you know that Nepal was one of the greatest countries I have ever visited. On the one hand itīs a third world country and you see it if you have your eyes open on the other hand you would never realize it if you look in the eyes of a nepali īcause they shine so bright, maybe brighter than some eyes of really rich people in Europe!!
