The bar features regular entertainment, with original local bands playing every Tuesday, an alternative pub quiz on a Monday, singer-songwriter nights on Wednesdays, and bands at the weekends as well. It ... ...busy.
Katy Dalys is only a two minute walk from the City Centre so it has a handy, central location, and has a late bar every night of the week. Its also right beside the Limelight Club (owned by the same people) so if you fancy having a few drinks before you head out its makes an ideal choice. Its also fairly cheap, and runs regular drink promotions.
Definitely one of the friendliest bars in Belfast.

The bar features regular entertainment, with original local bands playing every Tuesday, an alternative pub quiz on a Monday, singer-songwriter nights on Wednesdays, and bands at the weekends as well. It also plays host to some small, alternative club type night such as ‘No Dancing’, which plays quieter material such as Mogwai and Gomez.
The pub has a fairly wide selection of beers, wines and spirits, as well as all the usual snacks. It has a decent jukebox with plenty of commercial rock. It has a decent layout, with a slight raised section, and plenty of pillars and tables to loiter around. The bar staff are helpful, and it usually doesn’t take long to get served, even when the bar is very busy.

many who formerly visited regularly are now going to KatyDalys or Auntie Annie’s, two of the few actual 'pubs' left in Belfast.
Now I', certainly not against change but by the same token nearly every other pub in Belfast has gone down the same route and Belfast legendary breath of drinking houses seem to be slowly disappearing to be replaced with dozens of indenti-kit psudeo-wine bars!
Thankfully the upstairs area has been left mostly untouched, and still plays host to local gigs and touring bands from around the world, as well as the new rock and metal club night from local promoters, The Distortion Project. The venue upstairs is a fairly well laid out 230 capacity room, with an adequate sized bar.
As for the bar itself, if this sounds like your type of bar, the various cocktails and drinks available are great, the prices ...
