Advantages: Fantastic hotel. Disadvantages: They made me go home !!
This review is about my holiday at the El Paso Hotel, Port Aventura, Spain in October 2008.
My holiday was booked through First Choice Holidays and for my husband, myself and our 12 year old son for a weeks half board stay with unlimited access to the park, the cost, including flights and transfers was £1200.
We all had a wonderful time, I won't go into the park details as I have already written a review on that aspect of Port Aventura - this review is purely about our stay in the hotel.
We flew into Reus airport and it only took 10 - 15 minutes to get to our hotel.
Before I go any further, let me explain about Halloween at Port Aventura.
Every October and November Port Aventura goes into Halloween mode, and boy - they don't do it by half.
If you have ever been to Disneyland at Halloween - Port Aventura do it ...
Advantages: Friendly, Excellent selection of Food, Disadvantages: Just one (No fridge in room).
We have stayed at the hotel 3 times our last visit was June 2006. We will be returning sometime in the near future.
Hotel: The hotel is based on a Mexico theme. If you have children pick this hotel as they have plenty to keep them entertained all day.
Price: As a family of 4 through first choice the June 2006 cost us £1300 this is for halfboard and includes the admission to the parks and water park.
Room: All rooms are very spacious and really clean, the rooms have air conditioning,Satellite TV,Hair-dryer,Direct dial telephone,Safe (You need to visit reception to activate this). Rooms are cleaned everyday, if you don't want this just put the card provided outside the door. Our room looked over the pool and i feel this was a lovely area to be. Just a warning about the vending machines in hall, we found the snacks machines ...
Advantages: Fantastic Album! Great diversity. Disadvantages: There aren't more like it!
I was first introduced to Amadou and Mariam on the sole premise that they sang (at least in part) in French, possibly a bit of a risky strategy for choosing music. However, 3 months on, countless listens in, and one fantastic live show later, it had proved to be one of my friends' best reccommendations.
As a fan of most types of popular music, what really appealed to me about Dimanche a Bamako was the variety of tunes and styles on offer, from reggae in "La réalité" to the dancey "Coulibaly". However, this is by no means an album without a sense of genre; this variation is united by their Malian roots, as well as Manu Chao's expert production, which is one of its qualities that have drawn many to this album. The sheer range of songs on offer means there is something for every occasion, but it can also just as easily be listened to as ...
