I wish my skin hadn't "outgrown" Dead Sea Magik

Advantages: Good for problem skin, leaves your face feeling clean
Disadvantages: Packaging could be better, can be a bit harsh

Have a look around your average beauty salon or the skincare counters in department stores and if you're like me you will probably find the prices a bit scary. This isn't the case with Dead Sea Magik. I've had "problem" skin for about fourteen years, and by the time I was twelve I'd gone through the off-the-shelf acne skincare products and ended up on prescription treatments that were peroxide based and took the colour out of my bedding! But somewhere around then a friend suggested Dead Sea Magik, I tried it and it worked pretty well. I've been using it on and off ever since. The advantages for me are (or have been) that it doesn't make my skin flare up, it is reasonably inexpensive (I do a lot of window shopping before I buy and I think it is amazing that everyday cream cleansers can be £5 or £6 but as soon as the magic word ...

Review of Dead Sea Magik Exfoliant

Dead Sea Movenpick

Advantages: Float in the Dead Sea
Disadvantages: Have to pay hotel prices as no local shops

We stayed for 5 days at the Dead Sea resort of the Movenpick which is longer than the average tourist but we wanted to have more time to relax at the end of a hectic tour of Jordan. The hotel is stunning and attracts a large number of tourists from the Middle east and Europe. It has a number of restaurants and some small shops and quite extensive English language library. ( I borrowed Shane Ritchies autobiography!) It has a luxurious spa reasonable well priced and I sampled a Dead Sea Salt rub and massage which was great but not for the faint hearted. I asked for a medium strength massage and I would not have liked to have endured it had I opted for a deep massage. The salt scrub involved lying naked and having salt rubbed into your body and then being wrapped in foli and left to sweat it out. Skin felt great after. My ...

Review of Dead Sea Resort Hotel (Jordan)

Nice concept from Dead Sea Magik but could be much better

Advantages: Good exfoliator, quite a nice scent
Disadvantages: Messy to apply

This is an adequate body exfoliator - note that I don't call it a scrub - but whoever designed it clearly meant for you to lie back as somebody else applies it. (Which is fine if you've got somebody to do that, but not great if you're on your own in the bath.) I actually bought it as part of a box set with other Dead Sea Magik products because I'd got a promotional voucher as a result of sending the feedback slip from a tube of facial exfoliator back to Finders International and thought I might as well get as much as I could with it. Other scrubs are like a gel or cream or jelly with granules suspended in it - don't expect that from this product because you won't get it. If you're the kind of person who likes a foamy, bubbly body exfoliator, I would skip this and move onto something else. That's not to say it's a bad exfoliator - it ...
