Advantages: Fantastic architure and history to this Grade II listed building Disadvantages: Now contains a cheap and noisy hotel
...by the in-house DJ's. Also located within the hotel complex is Jenny's Carvery, the restyled Pizzeria and the traditional and comfortable Crompton's French Restaurant and Bar.
Location wise, the Hotel is close to the city's financial sector (Mosley Street, King Streeat), shopping, two theatres and the G-Mex centre. The famous Chinatown and The Gay Village, with their dozens of bars and restaurants are also only a few minutes walk away.
There are excellent transport links right outside the hotel, which can enable any visitors easy access to most of Manchester’s most famous attractions. The City of Manchester Stadium (see my review on this) and Sportcity is only 2 miles from the Hotel. Manchester Airport is only 8 miles away and Piccadilly Station which has a direct line to the airport is a 5 minute walk. Victoria Station which is the hub...

Advantages: Luxurious hotel! Disadvantages: You have to provide a £50 deposit on your credit card upon arrival.
...My partner and I enjoyed a romantic stay at this wonderful boutique hotel in the centre of Manchester over Easter 2008. If you book online via the hotel's website they offer last minute deals which are far cheaper than the standard rates. We stayed in a Boudior Grand Room for £120 a night whereas the standard rate for this type of room is £255. The hotel is centrally located opposite Granada TV and the Museum of Science and Industry. Walking distance to shops. The hotel rooms are very nicely decorated. Our room was on two levels: living area downstairs and bathroom / bedroom upstairs. Bathroom had a roll-top bath as well as modern rain head shower. The hotel has a roof top terrace and hot tub so take your trunks! The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We also enjoyed oysters from the hotel's very own oyster bar. It is a bit...

Advantages: Conveniently located to the Towers Business Park Disadvantages: Pretentious, unfriendly, scandalous cancellation policy
...This hotel is trying hard to be a four or five star hotel, but it lacks the class.
I don't mind paying high prices for high quality, but 10£ for an airline bottle of wine is a bit much.
They have a strange habit of locking the front door all the time. I don't know why because they open it for anyone who rings without having them identify themselves.
Finally, beware of their cancellation policy. To avoid being charged the full price (of 90£, not 69£ as it says above), you have to cancel before noon the day before your arrival. Most hotels have an 18:00 limit on the same day. When I rang them after getting the nasty surprise on my bank statement, I was told "that's our policy".
They'll never see me again....
