Advantages: excellent Disadvantages: you have to come back
...The beaches in Mombasa are absolutely wonderful, bright blue seas, clean sand, it’s just a marvel to look at. To stroll at night time wow that was a moment to be savoured.
It’s so easy and relaxing that the busy roads of the cities seem miles away.
Mombasa itself is a wonderful place, quiet but still lively enough not to get bored. You can go swimming with dolphins and watch the shows if you like.
It is the chief port in Kenya, you can get direct flights from Heathrow or Manchester. If you are lucky enough you may be able to afford to stay in the luxurious Mombasa Serena Hotel.
If you go to Kenya, you’ll have to go to Mombasa, a really good tourist attraction and a place to let our hair down and relax....

Advantages: Plenty to do and very cheap. Disadvantages: A very dirty city.
...Mombasa is a rather dirty city on the coast of Kenya. As soon as you get out into the surrounding areas though it changes dramatically. There are the most fantastic sandy beaches with clear blue warm waters. The diving is second to none with something for every one, from small wrecks, to coral walls. The marine life is truly abundant, with sharks, moray eels and turtles in hugh quantitys. On the north coast outside mombasa there is a highly recomendable diving school called Barracuda, well worth a try. Other than diving there is also plenty to do and see. There is a lot of history in the Mombasa area, and also world famous safari's. The safari to tsavo east and west is the best that I went on. If you like good food, then you must also eat at the Tamarind resturaunt as it is world class, especially the Lobster. If you like the sea...

Advantages: Lovely holiday resort Disadvantages: Be careful of your valuables
...I am from Kenya and have been to Mombasa several times. In fact I was there was millenium as well.
Well people have different views about different places as they hear different things from other people.
I would agree that Kenya in general is quite unsafe if you don't take care but if you do the necessary preparations to avoid getting into these circumstances, you will be just fine.
Mombasa is a lovely city with white sandy beaches. Divided into 2...the north and south coast both have hotels alond the beach. These hotels are all exclusive and they would be having all sorts of facilities from swimming pools to tennis courts to squash courts to bars to restaurants to pool games to acrobatics entertainment. There is a lot going on. There are also quite a few really nice clubs on the beach which play till the early morning hours of the day...

We stayed at this Hotel in June and had originally booked two studio apartments but on arrival we were upgraded to a two bedroom villa this may have affected my opinion of this hotel.
The only complaint we could possibly have made about this Hotel is... more
