wildlife parks of Kenya
Advantages: beautiful scenes, waterfalls, black rhino Disadvantages: a little difficult to get to
Aberdare National Park was made in 1950 to protect the forests of the Aberdare Mountains. It is a remote park, as it's hardly ever visited by travellers or safari companies.
You must book in advance as you cannot take your own vehicles.
The Park is located in the Central Highlands, west of Mount Kenya. You're able to see beautiful landscapes from high mountain peaks to valleys shaped like a V and bamboo forests. Accommodation
There are 2 main ... ...scared and withered. Not at Aberdare National Park. You see them at their full spectacular. The rarer of the animals like the Golden Cat, the bingo, and the forest antelopes can only bee seen by going high up into the moor lands.
There aren’t many attractions here. The main one is just seeing the animals. But you can also take a walk in the moor lands to either the Lesatima Peak or Kinangop Peak. Here, you'll be looking over the forest and views ...

Amboseli : Elephants, Elephants & more Elephants.
Advantages: Not as many tourists as other parks, good facilities in the Hotel. Disadvantages: No big cats, the Masai have "removed" them !
...a long weekend in the Amboseli Game Reserve as a thank you for helping him out at such short notice (his usual travelling companion was ill and sadly couldn't go).
Nairobi is very high up and I started suffering from altitude sickness within a day or so of arriving there (it's about the same height as Jo'burg, around 6000ft asl). We got the exhibition out of the way (easy peasy), and then we hired a minibus and driver to take us to Amboseli and ... ...THEN we were told why Amboseli is not *such* a popular game park - the Masai who live in the park had killed off all of the big cats to protect their cattle. No big cats then..... We looked forward to another day of elephants...........
The food at the Hotel was superb, as if they had imported the best French chefs to come and cook for us. Fabulous roasts of local beasties including zebra, impala, gazelle and ostrich, that's me sorted..... and the ...

Amazing Kenya
Advantages: Too many to list here - see review Disadvantages: Been quite a lot of trouble there this year
I was just looking back at my photos from my holiday in Kenya last year and felt compelled to write about the wonderful places we stayed and attractions we visited. It feels like being back at school having to write about holidays we went on!!
I went to Kenya last June with my Mum, her fiancee and my little sister (well not so little at 23!). Mum and my now step dad were getting married out there are took me and my sister out to celebrate with them. ... ...on going, especially having to leave my husband behind for 2 weeks, however, I really wanted the chance to celebrate my Mum's wedding and who can turn down a free holiday!
We went with First Choice from Manchester airport. The flight is about 8 hours but it really doesn't feel that long if you take advantage of the movies and other in flight entertainment.
If you are thinking of holidaying in Kenya I would strongly recommend choosing First Choice ...

Nakuru - Behind the Rhino, The real resort!
Advantages: Great Parks Disadvantages: Niave Tourists
...to push my thoughts onto Nakuru itself, the city of Nakuru.
Here we have a city trying to play big, in the day time, it beholds street sellers and street children alike, at night, it beholds night clubs / brothels and again, street children.
I would rather divert my thoughts onto things that matter, rather than those that dont.
There is a large community of children who live on the streets all over Kenya, and Nakuru has its fair share. These children ... ...bodies for money, and sometimes food, which is rather appauling.
My Kenyan guide explained to me that these children were unwanted by their families so ran away so they diddnt need to go to school anymore, well, it must be the childrens fault, here lies the first problem, the Kenyan Niavety, obviously this isnt the whole population.
Lacking from adequate sewage disposal, the streets are littered with extrement, and the smell that accompanies it ...

Niarobi - Open your Eyes !
Advantages: Diverse city with many attractions Disadvantages: Unhealthy for kids who live on the street
...is this really Kenya?
Nairobi is an interesting city, colourful, inviting, busy, relaxing, all at once. From street traders to guys who wash your windscreen at the lights, people everywhere are on the make, and doing it well. The night life is good, and excellent restaurants can be found at every street corner.
A great place for shopping is the Yaya centre, it has everything under one roof!
A place I wouldnt give a miss though is the shanty towns.....
... ...plastic and cardboard. Nairobi has a massive street children problem, they are on force, and this is why Nairobi has become a regular haunt for those wishing to exploit the youngsters.
The Police will take pride in hitting these children if they beg you for money, most of these kids are high from sniffing bags of glue, a way of release from their horrid existence.
Programs are in place across the city to help these children, mainly funded from ...
