Intercontinental Hotel, Nairobi
Advantages: fully equipped and comfortable Disadvantages: expensive
I can safely say this is the best hotel I have stayed in to date. Being delayed on a flight back to the UK does not put you in the best of moods but being put up here can certainly brighten your day. It's safe to say my view may be slightly biased in that i did not have to pay as the airline is obliged to put me up, but that does not change the fact that it is a fantastic hotel. Any place that serves free drinks on welcome to people who are not even ... ...But onto the review, the first impressions are very good. the lobby is clean and well designed to give i sense of open space and a welcoming atmosphere with the bar situated openly to the left and seating to the right. The staff at reception are extremely helpful and were quickly able to assign me a room and direct me there. The rooms are fantastic. With full DSTV and all channels it comes with plenty to entertain you. Coming with complimentary water ...

A good hotel with Fantastic Staff and on an Amazing Beach
Advantages: Great Staff and Located on a Gorgeous Beach Disadvantages: Food could become tiresome if you stayed too long
We stayed in this all-inclusive hotel in early December 2007 for 6 nights, but the experience was so good it I can remember almost everything about it. LOCATION --------------- It is located on one of the most amazing beaches I've ever had the pleasure to visit. Diani beach is made of miles and miles of powder white sand. ROOMS ----------- We stayed in one of their Cottage Rooms. This consisted of 3 rooms. The first room as you entered the accommodation ... ...is provided above each bed. There was also a wardrobe, which also houses the safe. It is worth noting here that the use of the safe is charged as an extra. Other furnishings in the first bedroom include a bedside table and a table lamp. The second bedroom contains a four-poster bed. This too is draped in a mosquito net. There is also a dressing table with some drawers and a pedestal to sit on. This second bedroom also leads into the bathroom. The ...

A must for anyone going to Kenya.
Advantages: Fantastic accommodation and food. Totally unique as it is on stilts. Disadvantages: Expensive.
...staying in three different locations. Salt Lick Lodge was the final and best place we stayed.
Salt Lick is made up of lots of huts built on top of stilits overlooking the waterhole. Each of the huts has 4 separate rooms and there are 96 rooms in total at the lodge. The huts are all linked together and to the main hotel by suspended walkways so that the animals can walk underneath.
It is called Salt Lick due to the fact that it is built around a ... ...can look out onto the salt lick and get a good view of the animals coming and going.
In the main part of the hotel there is a restaurant which serves fantastic food. The meal that sticks in my head is the one we were served for lunch when we first arrived. We had red snapper with various local vegetables which was just delicious. There was plenty of choice on the menu including lots of fish dishes and it was nice to be able to try things I probably ...

giraffe manor, hotel Nirobi
Advantages: Giraffes on doostep! Views and surroundings. Disadvantages: dont think there is any!
I visited this resort/hotel when i was in Kenya last year, i went mainly to see the giraffe's at the sancturary, they were amazing! They all looked really healthy and were well looked after, we could all pet and feed them which was such good fun, they have MASSIVE tongues! The hotel is so luxurious looking, it's a proper manor house and looks like it should be in England if it were'nt for the giraffes and surroundings! Its down a private road away ... ...We had a quick tour of the hotel after we were done with the giraffes, the rooms are really spacious and very clean, whilst it is'nt really modern it still looks up to date whilst inkeeping with the Hotels character and look. The resturant inside looked really nice, the menu was interesting and quick extensive so there is plenty to choose from. The best thing about the Hotel is the view over the nature reserve, the fields are suprisingly green and ...
